I know this is the wrong forum but I also know that a lot more people frequent this forum so I am posting it on here. Mods can delete it if they need to. Wondering if any of you know where I can get a Nezuma Rat or anything close to it? Or just a good rat wake bait? Thanks!

The Johnny rat wakebait is pretty nice looking. The bbz1 rat that's coming out looks good too and seems worth a try for the price. Theres the Jerry Rago rat also. Mini ms slammer is kind of a rat style wakebait. I've seen the nez on eBay and SU for sale.

Check out the CL8 Bait Possum or Baby Possum, depending on what size you want.  They are really nice baits and don't cost a fortune (like the Nezuma does.)

I prefer a wood rat over resin.  I also prefer anything over a Rago rat.

Just my .02

I've never used it. Just giving the OP some choices to look at.

Because the way I typically fish a rat, that particular brand doesn't fit my style.

Throw in the fact that they are made by Rago and well, yeah....

Any good recommendations for the OP on a wooden rat?

Wayne,

What kind of pin or what do you use for a replacement pin for the tails on your swimbaits? Something that doesn't rust out...?

Thanks for the responses guys. Really looking for a jointed wooden rat that 5 or 6 inches not counting the tail. Anyone know of any?

Take a look at Spro BBZ-1 rat video. The BBZ rat is plastic like most rats, good price point and should be available by now on TW.

Tom

PS, try a round wooden tooth pick to change tails.

Killer instinct weasel is about that size. I believe it's wooden but I could be mistaken. Lol I have one but yet to even fish it.

Just a general inquiry. I didn't know if you used just 1 type of pin or different depending on baits.

Toothpicks on some, modified hitch hiker on some others.

Both seem to work fine.

Bettencourt makes a jointed rat that is actually covered by rabbit fur. It looks amazing and is much cheaper than most comparable baits.

I talked with Clayton Bryant of CL8 Baits and he's building my rat this weekend! Thanks for the help guys!
