chefmjb Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 Saw an episode of Jimmy Houston outdoors where he went fishing with Captain Mike from bull gator airboat tours. Capt Mike brings you in the backwaters on an airboat for some great topwater bass fishing . Looking for someone who may want to split the cost of going out for the day. See the website and rates below http://www.bullgatorairboattours.com/rates.html If you are interested please let me know and we'll try to schedule a time to fish. I'll be coming from NC so we'll have to schedule in advance. Lets Fish Quote

chefmjb Posted September 11, 2014 Author Posted September 11, 2014 You became a member of Bass Resource and your first post is to split airboat trip? And there is a problem with this? I'm a member of many other boards, read many others and made a simple request to see if anybody wanted to go FISHING in an area that is far from home and that I have to travel to. Sorry that I can't contribute to every board I read as I generally concentrate on ones in my state. Thanks for the warm welcome. If your ever in NC be sure to call. Quote

I see how my remark could have upset you. For that I apologize. Being that you are seasoned in forums, you can understand how coming out of the blue and talking about an airboat trip sounded out of place. To me at least. Lastly, your profile is empty. There is 0 info about you. Maybe if you fill that information out and share something about yourself, your welcome, at least from me would have been different. Best of luck on your airboat trip. 1 Quote

Super User Darren. Posted September 12, 2014 Super User Posted September 12, 2014 Welcome to the forums, but I agree with Lou, drop some info on yourself! There's a great bunch of guys and gals here, most of whom do not bite. Florida bassin' is on my bucket list. So one of these days..... Quote

FL Bass Abducter Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 No I am not. Curious why you ask? Interesting question. I asked you if you were a mod because I wanted to know if you were a mod. I don't see anything unusual about my question. You seemed to jump all over the guy because he was new. I see you have over 3,000 posts and I have 35. Does post count matter? I'm just like you.......curious..... Quote

I don't see anything unusual about my question. You seemed to jump all over the guy because he was new. I see you have over 3,000 posts and I have 35. Does post count matter? I'm just like you.......curious..... I have since apologized to the OP in regards to our very first interaction. I can see how you can interpret it as "jumping all over the guy". Although I should have filtered my comment a little, the reason I said what I said was not because he was new. I made my comment because, on this forum, what I have found is, most new members go to the intro section and talk a little bit about themselves as far as who they are and the bass fishing experience they have. Over time they get they lay of the land on here and ask questions about their spots that they fish and ask for tips and advice to improve their skill set. I have an issue when individuals just join for handouts without contribution. They have 0 information about themselves in their profile and they are asking for something without acknowledging this site. There are numerous members on here with vast bass fishing and life experience that will not hesitate for a second to help out another fellow member when it comes to bass fishing and in some cases personal situations. To have individuals on here that can do that for their fellow man without asking for anything in return is a valuable resource. I felt I needed to protect that resource, with my original comment to the OP. I recognize that I allowed emotions to speak first without rational thought speaking first. This is what I have learned so far on here on my 3,307 th post. Fl Bass Abuducter hope fully this insight has fed your curiosity a little. 2 Quote
Jacob044 Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 So Lou, that was a really interesting thread. I do however relate to your concerns. I met lucky 47 on this thread and we did go fishing once and it was great BUT I did have a small bit of reservation as I'm sure he did. We did have a great time as we basically fish the same methods. We actually intended to go more often but situations made it difficult to schedule. I am looking forward to going with him again later this fall. Hope our schedules work together. ANYWAY, the point is that one never knows what they are getting into. This is one crazy world out there. Good luck to all out there with your fishing. Are you going to start up the challenge again this year? Tight lines to all. Quote

Just a note to all, worry about yourselves, and let moderators take care of moderating. If something seems awry, or looks like it violates the forum rules, use the "report a post" link, instead of trying to handle it yourself, or getting confrontational. Quote

Since being on BR I have personally met and fished with 4 BR members. 2 of which I have fished with a few times. The reservation will always be there. Meeting someone from the virtual world to the real world takes some getting used to. I have been fortunate to have met these individuals and we continue to communicate with each other several times a week. As far as last your last question, a PM has been sent. Glad to see back on the forums. Quote
WFFL Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Back to the original post............................... I appreciate the offer and would love to split a trip to fish with someone new. I keep my boat on the Big O normally Nov till Apr and travel down from NH twice a month. There are times when I come down by myself and would be happy to fish with someone on this forum (gas money not required). The airboat trip sounds cool too! I have read a lot about Capt Mike and would love to give that a shot. Let me know if anything here interests you. And to the guy who singled you out about your first post, you may want to hold back a similar comment to my post as I promise you I won't be as gracious. I'd much rather read someone's first post and have him post again and again rather than tick him off and be one and done. Great comment by the Mod, leave the moderating to them! Cheers & peace to all! 1 Quote

Again.......back to the original post. If you ever need a fishing buddy for the Big O or want to do the Airboat trip let me know. I promise I don't bite. Just a fisherman and more than willing to pay my way. I always feel better if it's 50/50 split. Just a little bit of planning and I'm good to go. For the airboat trip I'm hoping to go in February. Keep me posted and if interested send me a DM. In the words of Ringo Starr (see link below)...............Peace and Love, Peace and Love Quote

Super User Scott F Posted January 31, 2015 Super User Posted January 31, 2015 Is $700 for a full day guided trip a normal price in that part of Florida? That seems pretty high. A half day trip I took on Toho was only $250. Quote

A half day trip I took on Toho was only $250. It is pricier than most guided trips but I guess because of the uniqueness of it. For sure I'm willing to split the trip but unfortunately I can't do it on my own. I love topwater fishing so I'm really looking forward to going someday. Quote
chefmjb Posted April 22, 2015 Author Posted April 22, 2015 So I booked my Florida trip from May 8-12. Available to fish May 9, 10, 11. Still looking for someone to join me for the Airboat bass fishing. Any takers? Quote
