hey.... some time ago i got me a Falcon Bucoo micro guide rod, which i use for cranks. last time i got it out, i noticed the tip guide lost its center ceramic piece. so the tip ss now only a metal ring. so, how do i fix it? i have this kit that has several tips, but i dont think they are micro guides.

anyways, if i were to put one of those tips, how do i remove the old one? do i just heat it? i was thinking on using a hair dryed in order not to overheat the rod and melt it ( i have done it before with carbon arrows when i was into archery).

thank you,

You can put a regular size tip top on your rod.  It might be noticeable, depending on what the tip looks like and how big it is.  It shouldn't effect how the rod fishes though.  I always use a lighter to heat up the tip and pull it off, just be careful.  You will need some kind of hot melt glue to put the new one on.

You could also email Falcon and tell them what model you have.  They will probably send you a new micro tip in the right size for free or a few bucks.

^^ Yep, contact Falcon, and the lighter is the way I have done it as well, a good stick glue, like what's used in Archery Is ideal...

Go to mud holes Web site and order an epoxy stick just for tip tops. Also order a Fuji ss/Sic or alconite micro tip top. All you need is a lighter. Shipping from get bit will likely be a little cheaper. I wouldn't want a standard size tip top on a rod loaded with micros.
