Super User Catch and Grease Posted September 8, 2014 Super User Posted September 8, 2014 I was reading some old threads and in one I was talking about deep cranking in lake Seminole or something?? This is a lie, I don't even know for sure if I've caught a bass in Florida but I believe I have when I was younger. Why I would lie about fishing Lake Seminole I dont know... Quote

Super User Choporoz Posted September 8, 2014 Super User Posted September 8, 2014 I have no idea, really.....though I might have exaggerated once or twice.....lol.... An old FOG on a totally unrelated forum gave me some advice that I've always tried to follow (though, not ALWAYS successfully): "Read more. Post less." I think it does keep me out of trouble some times. Not just for stories, but out of dust-ups, too. Quote
einscodek Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 More importantly you caught it yerself.. first step to rectifying an issue is to confess. Congrats. 1 Quote

Super User gulfcaptain Posted September 8, 2014 Super User Posted September 8, 2014 Sometimes we mis-read posts and comment.....then have to back track and step up and say oops. It happpens but at least most of us will admit the mistake unlike most of those people in DC. Next time just blame it on Bush....j/k Quote
Super User Jigfishn10 Posted September 8, 2014 Super User Posted September 8, 2014 Ah, you tried son, don't sweat the small stuff. Just remember, trying is the first step towards failure... Quote
Super User Sam Posted September 9, 2014 Super User Posted September 9, 2014 Hey Catch, I lie to my friends and club members all the time. And with a straight face. I do not want them to know what I threw or where so I make up stuff and they believe me. So is it OK in bass fishing to kind of stretch the truth a little? Yes, but we do it without any malice. I love when the guys on TV fishing shows catch a 12-inch dink and say it is a 2-pounder. And to see the TV guys pull in fish after fish but not telling you they are in a private pond. Or have the pros at the Classic say they threw "such and such bait" but never mention that the never caught anything on it or if they did how they modified it. You probably told a fib as you are afraid of having the Jawja Bulldogs take on the wonderful and talented LSU Fighting Tigers in the SEC Championship Game in Atlanta so you expanded on something to make you feel better. Now go out and do some fishing and let us know all of the details and remember to give us all of the important data on your adventures like rod and reel data, line test and manufacturer, specific baits thrown and results, time of day, weather conditions, boat traffic, had a girl with you that caused you to lose a monster fish, water temperature, wind miles per hour, exactly where you caught each bass and anything else you want to share with us. Then again............. Quote
Super User Raider Nation Fisher Posted September 9, 2014 Super User Posted September 9, 2014 I will have to agree with Bill "Bubba" Clinton, on this one. "Lie, Lie, Lie, Deny, Deny, Deny." Oh, and trying to say, "I did not have relations with that woman". Does not work when your wife barges in on y'all, for the second time that night, and announces, she is taking the children and going to her sisters house. 2 Quote

Super User Sam Posted September 9, 2014 Super User Posted September 9, 2014 The major law enforcement problem in West Virginia is that all DNA matches all other DNA. Now Catch, go out and do some fishing and let us know how you did and the size of the one that got away. Quote

Doc-Drew Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Hey Catch, I lie to my friends and club members all the time. And with a straight face. I do not want them to know what I threw or where so I make up stuff and they believe me. My father used this tactic when he used to fish bass clubs. He told me stories of how he used to catch a bag of fish and be near the top almost every week and when people would ask what he was using he would just say "plastics" Just try using that next time and wait for the response. He even told me a couple times he had guys pull right up next to him while he was fishing to see what he was using and he would switch rods while they came in so they didn't see his secret "plastic" Quote
