All the time I here complaints about 5,6 ,7 or 8 dollars for a bag of plastics. Me I usually buy big bite plastics. They work good, come in all colors, shapes, and sizes, and they are $1.50 at dicks. I use expensive senkos and such when the fish are picky or when im trying to out fish my friends, but when the bite is on or I'm just casually fishing by myself I throw out the cheap stuff. It works good enough for most fishing and I can go through a whole bag and not even care. They are scented by the way. I recommend there creature bait in dark red for the best results, but all are good.

Picked up 5 bags of these form Gander Mountain when they had them for $1 a bag.  I have had zero luck with them and the ones I have used have not lasted long when it is hot outside.  They sort of melt.  On the other hand I can find senkos for 2 for $10 or 2 for $12 with a $10 off $50 coupon that makes them $4-$5 a bag.  I have also tried KVD version and Dingers.  The Dingers are not bad but I have better luck with Senkos.  I can't remember it was years ago but there was an online source that sold a senko knock offs for $3-$4 a bag and they were awesome.  I ordered 200 from them and it took me a long time to use them with all the other stuff I had.  Bottomline, if it works for me, I don't mind paying a couple of bucks but I if I can find a deal that works better, I'd be all over it.

I get zoom trick worms buy one get one, plus I have been getting senkos for $3.20 a bag... All spring/ summer... I usually can get powerbaits at a dollar.. And the only bait I need to pay full price are Rage craws.

I just bite the bullet and spend the extra money for senkos and the like. When you divide out the price of the package, they still equal out to less than $1.00 each. Way too expensive relative to other plastics, but still cheaper than lots of other things I could be doing.

Against better judgement (and probably to the detriment of my catch rate), the place where I go cheap is on crankbaits. I simply snag and lose too many of them to routinely spend $8-15 each.

After spending thousands on a boat, hundreds for rods and reels, Lord knows how much hooks, line and sinkers, the last thing I'm concerned about is the few dollars it costs me for a bag of soft plastics.

I primarily use Berkley Power Baits, Ragetail Craws, and the numerous offerings from GYBC.  All of them were bought for the ability of them to produce fish and not because they can last all day.

Who saves money by using the least expensive line they can find?

The cost of soft plastics is such a small part of the price to fish. I want the best possible chance

of catching fish when I have the opportunity to be out on the water. I put a much higher value on

my time than the cost of a bait.

Never used the big bites senkos but their trailers and tubes are on point.  Smallies love those d**n things.

I could say the same thing about plastic swimbaits vs senkos too

I catch alot more fish with plastic swimbaits than senkos

plastic swimbaits on the order cost more than senkos

but they catch more fish for me .. so why would I even ever buy senkos

I also catch more fish on spinnerbaits and they dont break nearly as much as senkos

and for me they catch more fish

so save money on senkos and buy plastic swimbaits and spinners :)

but really.. bottom line is if yer good enuf to catch fish with cheap knockoffs as well as yamamoto senkos

then why flip for the more expensive?

but if you cant and senkos make a difference for ya then get senkos .. its about catching fish for most of us.. not throwin lures and getting tendinitis for nothin'

I've also tried Big Bite and had zero luck.  But what works for one doesn't always work for another.  I'd say if that's your comfort zone, go for it.

I've gravitated to BPS plastics since mid summer, and have had a lot of luck with them. Less expensive and the bags are packed.

Catching fish has nothing to do with how much money you spend or who's name is on the package. I catch as many fish as anyone on our local waters and use nothing but $2.99 per bag Havoc plastics, cheap Booyah jigs and frogs, and Strike King hard baits. If I am not catching fish, it's not because I am not using yamamoto plastics or megabass hard baits. But if spending top dollar on stuff gives you confidence, and more enjoyment of your time on the water , then do it. It's not my place to tell people how to spend their hard earned money.

i hear you and it's a good idea for sure , i have done that though before i got married and been 16 yrs now and have a substantial amount of plastics, even though i find deals i can't pass up. and i don't think it's a bad thing. the old saying goes (better to have more than not enough!)

I don't use senkos really but I did like the BPS ones and they come in a big bag and are durable. It is a really nice bag that is heavy duty also for reuse. I would use it to throw a few baits in and take a walk down a bank treble hooks included with no prob. As for Big Bite I have caught tons of fish with there ringed brush hog type baits. They don't really last to long though but are only $1 for a bag.

If I am in the right spot, right line, right presentation-size and color, I actually could care less if I am fishing a GYB, Big Bite, or any brand as it will catch fish. The big bite Rojas Cane Sticks for a buck were a steal and I grabbed a dozen packs in awesome colors and they are awesome, super soft and don't last but the action is as good as a Senko, Dinger, Ace, Salt Lick, Ocho, Stik O, Tiki Stick, Sugar Stix, culprit Stinger, Charlies, Venom Sling stick, Chompers super sinker.....At this point they are all good, it is the person at the wheel who makes it all happen.....If you can't cast it in the right areas or have poor hook setting skills that is a problem, but brands all make good baits now, and I can truly say that I can't say any companie's "Senko" is garbage.....GYB does offer a ton of colors and also the Pro Senko and I love their grubs/spider grubs so I buy them when on sale and if Chompers or Bass Pro XPS grubs are on sale I buy those, and they work fine and bass pro actually has some cool colors, and big Bite has the Squirel Tail Worm which I think is the best shaky worm IMO and not really cheap, same as zoom and the rest....

Bottom line, if you think the GYB Senko is best, then fish it because in fishing if you believe it to be true, than it will most likely work best as you will be confident...I don't like the smell of garlic, but like the smell of coffee, so even though I love the Gambler line of baits, I will always choose strike King since there baits will do what the Gambler baits can do if rigged on same tackle. The KVD shiner is good, so is the Ez swimmer, the Otter is great, the Rodent is awesome and so is the new floating beavers which are durable but I hate keeping them on the hook

I like to fish Zoom plastics, so I go to excessiveoutdoors.com and get them for $1.60 a pack. All types of Zoom plastics there for that price.

I've got nice bass on the Luck E strike 6" twirl tail worm in watermelon.

$1.50 for a bag 15.
