may wanna look at any local hobbie shopps ..... i know around here you can buy chuncks of balsa .... as for cedar ,,, i really dont know ..... but id still check out some hobbie shopps or maybe even a lumber yard they may have scrap blocks that may work ///  :o

I think they are on the shelf between the brass ones and the blue ones.  8-)

There are so many ways to go with this and none of them are good.  So, I will just give an honest reply.  Lowes, and I assume Home Depot, sell cedar to go in closets and blanket chests and things like that.  I think that I have seen them in the "shape" you request.  However, I am not sure on the size of the balls that lowes or home depot has.
