Super User buzzed bait Posted September 4, 2014 Super User Posted September 4, 2014 There's more bacteria on your phone or a random door handle than a lowly bass you catch Really? This is not that big of a deal. How do you eat when you are out fishing after handling fish? I mean, you do touch your food after that, right? Same thing. you guys are smarter than these average bears.... people have more misconceptions about cleanliness and transfer of bacteria than they do about bass fishing..... Quote
Super User Catch and Grease Posted September 4, 2014 Super User Posted September 4, 2014 Just because something is safe doesn't mean it isn't gross, I'm not gonna handle a bass then eat my PB&J until washing my hands off. I wouldnt drink the lake water so I'm not gonna risk it. Quote
Super User WRB Posted September 4, 2014 Super User Posted September 4, 2014 Well in that case, "kiss my bass"B.A.S.S. marketed Kiss My Bass clothing and accessories back in the 70's; jump suites, hats, shirts, belt buckles etc., very popular items.Tom Quote

Super User .ghoti. Posted September 4, 2014 Super User Posted September 4, 2014 I won't kiss anything that starts with a b 1 Quote
Super User Jar11591 Posted September 4, 2014 Super User Posted September 4, 2014 It's not something I really see as all that gross, but I have no need or want to do it. Although I've done it once it twice joking around. I usually just give it a "thank you buddy". Quote
Zach Dunham Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 Uhhh, I wash my hands?? Well I guess to each his own! I've never washed my hands while fishing and I always eat out there. Never had a problem. I mean, I'm not gonna sit there and lick a fish up and down but I just don't think it is that big of a deal. Quote
Super User tcbass Posted September 4, 2014 Super User Posted September 4, 2014 I am pretty sure I saw an episode of Jimmy Houston outdoors and he said it was bad to kiss them because you can get sick. Quote

I've forgot soap/water on fishing trips and had to eat without washing my hands after handling bass so I will do it but I prefer to wash my hands... Quote
Fishing Cop Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 Well I guess to each his own! I've never washed my hands while fishing and I always eat out there. Never had a problem. I mean, I'm not gonna sit there and lick a fish up and down but I just don't think it is that big of a deal. I just eat before I go. You can take some hand sanitizer or wipes with you. Do something to clean up if you have to eat on the water and don't kiss a fish. Quote

Super User .ghoti. Posted September 5, 2014 Super User Posted September 5, 2014 I would prefer to lick a toilet. Discretion being the better part of valor, I think I'll just let that sit there and simmer for a bit. Quote
JustinHarantFishing Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 The big girls I'll kiss but not on a normal basis Quote
