fisherrw Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 abu garcia orra sx vs revo s is it worth the price? Quote
Super User new2BC4bass Posted September 2, 2014 Super User Posted September 2, 2014 Yes How come I can never come up with an answer like this? Short and to the point. Quote
xanadu Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Worth the price but you are comparing a magnetic brake to a centri brake. Two totally different feels. Both have their strengths. Quote
Smallmouth Hunter Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Worth the price but you are comparing a magnetic brake to a centri brake. Two totally different feels. Both have their strengths. meh.. Dynamic braking > non-dynamic 99% of the time. Dynamic meaning it brakes more at the beginning the cast and tapers off by itself. Non-dynamic means it applies the same braking force throughout the whole cast EVEN when it isn't needed to avoid overruns. The linear braking in the ORRA sx really can't match the centrifugal (dynamic) braking of the S. I'd go with the S if you're set on getting an Abu, but if it were my money, I'd look for a lew's tournament speed spool with dual brakes.. Can be had for $100 or so easily. Quote
Super User David P Posted September 2, 2014 Super User Posted September 2, 2014 Revo S definitely. Can find some pretty good deals on lightly used ones for under $100 too. Quote
