mayer74 Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 I have been hearing a lot about fish attractant. There are marinades, gels, and pastes. I have seen pro-cure, mike's gel scent, smelly jelly, and mega strike advertised a lot lately. Anyone tried these? Have any suggestions or favorite 'flavor' and brand? Is it nonsense or a good idea? If so, how do you like to use them? Thanks! Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted September 1, 2014 Super User Posted September 1, 2014 Megastrike is the way to go - Pro-cure is decent as well - Trophy Bass flavor A-Jay Quote
Super User BassinLou Posted September 1, 2014 Super User Posted September 1, 2014 Here this topic is also over on the rods reels section for some reason. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/143869-attractants/ Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted September 1, 2014 Super User Posted September 1, 2014 Mega-strike and be done with it. 1 Quote
Super User gulfcaptain Posted September 1, 2014 Super User Posted September 1, 2014 Firm believer in Pro-Cure. Use 3 scents, Rainbow Trout, Crawfish, and shad. Only other attractant I use is F2-Shad when throwing A-rigs, but I add a little something to it that comes from Pro-Cure. Quote
Slade House Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 i use megastrike and smelly jelly, i like smelly jelly almost a little bit more because it actually adds a visual element too it with the sparkles and it also it seems to rejuvanate old baits better. one thing i hate about megastrike is the tube, i always seem to step on it and have it fly out of the tube everywhere. Super User Sam Posted September 1, 2014 Super User Posted September 1, 2014 MegaStrike - original or crawfish flavor. JJ's Magic - any color including clear. Quote
Super User iceintheveins Posted September 1, 2014 Super User Posted September 1, 2014 I use megastrike, and I also squirt a little bang craw/shad in my soft plastics bags. Quote
5fishlimit Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Power Team Lures Hawgtonic for soft baits. Megastrike for hard baits, but I've been also using it as lube to get tube jigs into tubes a little bit easier. Quote
flipin4bass Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 I've used all those mentioned and then about five years ago I tried CB's Hawg Sauce Crawfish Gel...I'll never go back. Quote
Super User Master Bait'r Posted September 2, 2014 Super User Posted September 2, 2014 Megastrike Or Congealed/cold bacon grease also works and smells oh-so awesome. If you just fill a decent sized syringe (minus the sharp part) with it before you go out, it'll last you the whole day and costs $0. Quote
