Super User *Hootie Posted August 31, 2014 Super User Posted August 31, 2014 Who here uses them. How do you like them. Been thinking about ordering one from TW. Ordering the one with the full cork grip. Hootie Quote
DelcoSol Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Why on earth would you be thinking this? Didn't you just get a bunch of NRX? You're supposed to upgrade not downgrade. You need a new Megabass. All kidding aside I have the old Crucial drop shot rod and like it. Quote
kikstand454 Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Love my couple of crucials. I use my 7'6" Carolina rod constantly. Quote

I just like the looks of that Crucial. Got a birthday coming up, but I didn't want to go overboard....Megabass...hmmm. Hootie Quote
DelcoSol Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Orochi XX I am thinking of selling some gear off and dipping my toe in the Daiwa pool.. Quote
Super User *Hootie Posted August 31, 2014 Author Super User Posted August 31, 2014 Guess my Crucial rod is a no go. I wanted the 6'8" MH casting rod with full cork grips. Nobody but nobody has them. Checked every place I could think of. Hootie Quote
Cgrinder Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 MB X4 Destruction. Overboard is the only way to go. Quote

Super User *Hootie Posted August 31, 2014 Author Super User Posted August 31, 2014 Just liking the looks is enough reason to get one. Was that a question or a comment?...lol. Yeah, probably not the smartest method of making a decision, but, well, the bait monkey....you know. Hootie Quote
Super User FishTank Posted August 31, 2014 Super User Posted August 31, 2014 How about a St.Croix LEC68MXF? This is the Legend Elite series. If my memory serves me right, this rods power is similar to a MH G. Loomis rod. The sensitivity is excellent and it has a full cork handle. It works great for soft plastic and spinner baits. One thing I thought was weird and was difficult to get use to, was how fast this rod loaded. What did you intend to use it for? Quote
thehooligan Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 I want a new crucial as well, just curious what the weight it is... Quote
Super User *Hootie Posted August 31, 2014 Author Super User Posted August 31, 2014 Decided on the split grip. It is available at TW. Just placed my order. Hootie 1 Quote
War Eagle 44 Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Decided on the split grip. It is available at TW. Just placed my order. Hootie Please report back on how you like, or dislike, this rod when you've had a chance to fish it. I'm seriously considering ordering 6 or 7 of the new Crucial rods and switching brands from Powell. It's either going to be the new Crucial line or the new Powell Max line. I'm going to order a whole new "set" of whichever rod I finally decide on. You're input on the new Crucial rods will be very much appreciated, especially since you have higher end rods to compare them to and therefore are able to give an informed opinion of them. Quote
Super User *Hootie Posted August 31, 2014 Author Super User Posted August 31, 2014 I sure will. I will have it Wednesday, and will be fishing it Thursday. Hootie Quote
Super User fishballer06 Posted September 1, 2014 Super User Posted September 1, 2014 I have 2 of the new Crucials. I've got the 6'10" MH-F split grip, and the 7' M-MF full grip cranking rod. I love them both. Grips are nice, reel seat is very nice, light weight, very sensitive, it casts a mile, and I think it's just a very good looking rod. I'm sure I'll be picking up one of the 7'3" models here eventually. I highly recommend them. Quote
thehooligan Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Anyone that could weigh there new crucials and post up would be appreciated. Quote
hatrix Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 I don't have any experience with the new ones with the cork but i have the EVA ones. The 7'2" MX/XF is probably my favorite and most comfortable of all my rods. The way the reel seat is and how you lock it in from the bottom with no threads is A+ in my book. Oh they also have hook keepers that actually make sense and are not the idiotic closed loops or those ones that flip up. Those make no sense to me and even more so on a worm/jig rod when I have to poke my hook point out of my plastic to get it on there. Sorry about that ^^. Those things just annoy me and now I just glue my own on rods that have the stupid keepers. Quote
