My biggest bass has come sometime within the last 10 years, that's how long I've been living in Florida.  Don't carry a scale so I don't know exactly, but I'd say it was pretty darn good.  All my bass are released.

7lbs 1oz

October 3rd, 2013, Conesus lake

1oz jig, with creature bait trailer, in 15 fow, in the late afternoon/early evening.

Photographed by a cottage owner who saw me catch it, released after the pictures and a short stay in the livewell to make sure it was okay. It's the picture under my screen name.

Be prepared to laugh.

Somewhere around May or June.

The scale said 2lbs, but it was a $5 scale so I'm not sure if it was correct.

Released.

Autumn about 8-9 years ago at an old sand mine east of Gainesville Fla that my company turned into a hunting lodge when the veins ran out in the 70's.

I don't hunt so when my customers left I grabbed an old Berkeley fishing pole that was in a shed, put a june bug brush hog on, made one cast and caught a 9.75. There was no live well in the boat's they had so I put her on a stringer and tied the other end to the oar support to show them when they got back.

After about 10 min I started feeling bad and let her go.

Many, many 5-8 Lb fish were caught in that pit over the years, but none bigger than my "Bertha"

Not being able to go back there is one of the worst things about retiring

Tom did you get a girth measurement? I find it interesting to look at length & girth measurements and their relationship to the actual scale weight.

The girth was very close to 28" using a length of line to measure with. I always trying to keep these big bass in the water as much as possible to reduce stress. My method to measure is using a wet Terry towel laid on the deck use my fishing line cut to lengths that match fish length and girth. My aluminum boat had a yard stick tacked down for quick length measurements, my bass boat doesn't.

PM your email and I can send a photo of that bass, if interested.

June 28, 2012 at 2 p.m. South Texas, 106 degrees at that hour, no wind, brutally hot, Strike King 6XD, Chartreuse/blue back. Boat in 25 FOW, casting up on 8' deep flat, rocky ledge. 10.05 lbs. Released.

8 lbs. even on my 55th birthday - 5 yrs. ago and change. 8lb. test - 1 power lami rod / Okuma metaloid spinning reel, 3/16ths "homemade" finesse jig, 3/o lt. wire hook. One HELL of a fight! Transported it to our local kids only pond. Anything under 10 lbs. here can-not be transplanted into another water, but knowing most of the law enforcement in our county and calling them frist made it O.K. to do so.

Note; Our company sponsors & runs the annual fishing derby in our town.

I just wonder how you remember all that info. That would make you my age and I can't remember what I did yesterday.
