I know lately it has been hard to find some pistol ammo and if you do, the prices are unrealistic. So where do you get yours?

I get all of mine from a local shop.  I have found most of the time the big box stores are real high.  They never jumped in on the rip off pricing like some.  I usually buy it by the case.  Its expensive up front but the overall pricing is a lot less.  I'll get a buddy or two to jump in on the case also.

Local shops charge a ton.

Not always true.  I have  a local shop that is cheaper than anywhere online.

Good point. I guess it depends a lot on your area. Here in South miami LGS get away with high priced ammo. Most ranges charge $17-20 for a box of 115gr fmj federal, American Eagle and even their own reloads.

It's been getting better but I still prefer to order online when I can. Even with shipping I get boxes for $12-14 per for the same federal and blazer brass.

I've tried cabelas herters nylon jacket stuff and was pleasantly surprised especially for the price.

I get mine from my RCBS Rock Chucker!

It's the only way to go.

Only if you can find powder! I am a WIN231 abuser and cannot find it to save my life. Not willing to change recipes to accommodate others as I have it dialed in perfectly with 231.

Tampa shops and the chain shops are high.  The shop I found is a dinky, run down building and is a one man show.  If the doors are open then he is behind the counter. It's a cramped 8 lane 50 foot range with bad lighting and a shop the size of your kitchen.  But, he is always busy because of his customer service and ammo prices.  The big pretty ranges in Tampa could learn a few things from him.

Local shop or walmart for my 40's local shop for 357 mag. Only found walmart to carry 38 special here so far.

Hello,

Yup, Rockchucker here, too.  I had a Lyman Turret 1 press but just like the single-stage Rockchucker better.

W231 is in short supply, but I do still have some as well as an uncounted hundreds of rounds.
