hugger73hatch Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Went looking for some YUM Buzz frogs today and couldn't find them....been out of fishing bass on a regular basis for a few years and it looks like they have been discontinued. I liked them better than the horny toads...the legs always seemed to hold up better for me. How are the ribbits? They look similar to the YUM Buzz Frogs. Quote
200racing Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 i fished zoom horny toads and the big ribbits back to back in a pond after i ran out of zooms. the toads have a quicker hyper frantic action to them. the ribbits were of a chug chug chug action. Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted August 28, 2014 Super User Posted August 28, 2014 Zooms cause less commotion when retrieved that the ribbits. I like them both and if one isn't get hit i will switch to the other and it usually does the trick. Quote
Jay Ell Gee Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Ribbits are an excellent soft plastic and were my long time favorite frog. However, I have been throwing the 42 Tackle Company "42 Toad" for a while now and believe it to be superior. It has an outstanding hookup ratio. Check them out online! Quote

Super User roadwarrior Posted August 28, 2014 Super User Posted August 28, 2014 Give the Rage Tail Toad a try, it might be the best bait Rage Tail makes! Quote
Super User AK-Jax86 Posted August 28, 2014 Super User Posted August 28, 2014 Ribbits are the best soft plastic frogs IMO Quote
Alpha Male Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Ribbits are the best soft plastic frogs IMO I have done the best with Berkley Kicker frogs. The legs can be fragile but I have never missed a hookset. Quote
Jay Ell Gee Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Give the Rage Tail Toad a try, it might be the best bait Rage Tail makes! I can vouch for these as well. Awesome frog lure. Quote

Heron Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 My preferred buzz frogs are Gambler Cane Toads, and Rage Tail Shads. Rage Toads are also excellent. Quote
