Hey guys, I need a Heavy rod in the 7-8ft range and was wondering which of these you like more, The Ethos is 60$ and the veritas is 80$ but ill cough up the little bit extra for the veritas if it'll be worth it.

I'll be using it for Jigs, Frogs, Big worms, and Heavy Texas rigs.

They both seemed like quality rods for the money when I held them at the store but Id like yalls input.

DSG around here has the old model of Veritas for $50 right now, might want to check that out. I've never owned a Veritas but they feel like nice rods. I own 7 or 8 Ethos and have nothing bad to say about them. If you can find them on sale the lower end Ethos goes for $40 pretty often.

2 of my favorite rods. They make up 98% of my arsenal. Both have there place but only because I like the feel of the reel seat better I would say veritas. Honestly if ya slapped the components from the veritas on the h20 and painted it white it would be almost impossible to tell the differance.

I own the XHVY 7'6" Ethos which I got for $15 at Academy when they had like 6 of them marked down. I bought 3, gave one to a buddy, kept two. I broke one setting the hook on a small (prob about 1 1/2 lb) bass. I guess there was a defect. When I tried to return it, they didn't want to trade it out for the $50 one so I kept it hoping to find more on deep sale someday.

I don't won any Veritas but I have several Vendettas. I like them a lot.

Yeah I have heard quite a few people say that they have broke Ethos setting the hook or boat flipping a bass and that kinda put me off...

If you go Veritas, go MH because the rod is a broom handle.  I love my 7' MH for pitching jigs and working big texas rigged ribbon tails, but it it absolutely unsuited for frog fishing.  It's got the light weight and power figured out, but the almost complete lack of a tip on the rods makes frogging difficult.

I'm pretty much looking for a broom stick lol

The 7' heavy/extra fast should meet my needs, I don't think it will be to stiff...
