Joshd Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 I wear prescription glasses and the sun is killing my eyes. I am wanting to buy some polarized clip on sunglasses but do not know what to look for in a pair. I see some on eBay for $3 - $15 but I would think a quality set would be around $50. I would like them to help knock the glare off the water and protect my eyes. I'm hoping someone can send me to the right place to get a good set instead of having to buy 3 or 4 sets before finding something that works. Quote
Super User Dwight Hottle Posted August 27, 2014 Super User Posted August 27, 2014 Look at fitovers. Quote
Super User Crestliner2008 Posted August 27, 2014 Super User Posted August 27, 2014 I've been wearing a quality clip-ons called SolarClips. They even have an eye glasses chart that you can print out on your computer to get the correct size & configuration for the particular glasses you are wearing. This is my 3 rd. season wearing them and I'm very pleased. I'm sure you can find them doing a Google search. Quote
Super User OkobojiEagle Posted August 28, 2014 Super User Posted August 28, 2014 I wear Fitovers and Cocoons... I prefer the optics of the Cocoons. oe Quote
tatertester Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Agree on fitovers and cocoons....forget the clip-ons, not nearly the size lense. Quote
GoRavens Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Me and my wife wear cocoons. We like them Quote
chris55552 Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 I recently purchased a pair of Jimmy Houston polarized glasses at wal-fart and they are a really great pair of polarized glasses for the price. They only cost about 15 dollars Quote
tholmes Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Another vote for fitovers vs. clip-ons. I use the $20 Solar Shield fitovers from Wal-Mart, Walgreens, etc. They cover the sides, top and bottom of your field of view. The one downside is that they restrict air circulation and tend to fog up in cool weather. Sure, you'll look like an old geezer, but some of us are old geezers. Tom Quote
