Tylertut Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Is there a color that will perform well in any water clarity and depth? Would black or Pearl be.a good choice? Quote
Super User aavery2 Posted August 27, 2014 Super User Posted August 27, 2014 Firetiger is a good color in most water conditions. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted August 27, 2014 Global Moderator Posted August 27, 2014 If I had to choose just one color it would probably be some kind of shad color or something like copper bream. Quote
Super User iceintheveins Posted August 27, 2014 Super User Posted August 27, 2014 Baby bass, chartreuse craw, red craw. Quote
Super User Catch and Grease Posted August 27, 2014 Super User Posted August 27, 2014 Chartreuse black back, I've caught fish in everything from clear to muddy on this color. 2 Quote
Super User Montanaro Posted August 27, 2014 Super User Posted August 27, 2014 Get what catches your eye as long as it's not crazy. But if I had to answer I'd say a translucent bait or firetiger Quote
Super User iceintheveins Posted August 27, 2014 Super User Posted August 27, 2014 Don't overlook firetiger in clear water, I've caught plenty on it, especially in choppy, windy conditions. Red or yellow craws work good in clear to moderately stained water. Quote
PersicoTrotaVA Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 I have never caught anything on firetiger. Black back Chartreuse is my go to color no matter the conditions. Rootbeer Chartreuse is quickly becoming my new fav though. 1 Quote
Super User F14A-B Posted August 27, 2014 Super User Posted August 27, 2014 Idk, if there was truly a best color, proven beyond all others... I would use it exclusively. My faves are a few, Chartruse / Black. Limetrusese, Gill and sunfish, shad colors, as well as Gold... I like green craw patterns too.... Quote

Super User Fishes in trees Posted August 27, 2014 Super User Posted August 27, 2014 My first choice most of the time is a shad colored crank. Quote
Super User fishballer06 Posted August 27, 2014 Super User Posted August 27, 2014 Crawdad colors always seem to work. Forage fish colors always work as well (shad, perch, bluegill, etc). Quote

Super User Raul Posted August 27, 2014 Super User Posted August 27, 2014 It´s very simple, you can do it as complicated as you want; ia have cranks in a rainbow of colors and patterns, I´m a sucker for a pretty painted crankbait. Or you can do it simple, those 4 colors I mentioned catch fish practically anywhere for me, I would add "shad" and "baby bass" if you are into the "match the hatch" school of thought ( personally I think it´s FOS ). Super User WIGuide Posted August 27, 2014 Super User Posted August 27, 2014 I'd have to say sexy shad would be my choice to throw in any water condition. Quote
bassguytom Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 I like me some sexy shad also. They only thing better would be "very sexy shad" but I haven't found that yet. Quote
