That's a nice compliment with regards to the commitment you made to maintaining it's condition mechanically & cosmetically.

Kudos . . .

30 out the door. that was with trade in and few things I wanted on the boat. Keel guard, electronics etc.

I was actually looking at new Rangers, but the price point was a lot higher than this skeeter. Basically an 18 foot Ranger with a 150 and the electronics I wanted, I couldn't find anything under 46 thousand. I got more boat, more motor for 16 grand less. I do miss fishing out of my Ranger, but the skeeter is a much better ride in rougher water and is faster, has more storage space, and is much lighter. The Skeeters fit and finish isn't up to par with Ranger quality, but not much is. This is my first Yamaha, and i love it so far. So much quieter than the Mercury, but it does suck the gas.

175 HPDI. It saw 66 mph on a 60 degree morning on glass water with no tackle or gear. Just me. Still breaking in as we speak, but its a consistent 63 mph boat. Once its broke in I will start tweeking the jack plate height. I would think once I get the motor height in the sweet spot, it will be a consistent 65 mph boat. Maybe see 68 on a cold morning with no chop, but that's pushing it. I may only see 68 with no weight at the bow. Right now it has 20 rods and reels, and a good 200 lbs of tackle at the bow.

my Ranger was a consistent 57 mph boat, it was saw 60 a few times with no load and no chop. But the ride is no comparison, the skeeter blows it away. The Ranger was a more stable fishing platform though. Im only 31 so I want the speed and agility. When I get in my older years, ill pry get another Ranger.

That is a sweet rig. What exact model is it and what extras did you get?

TZX195 is the model. I got a Humminbird 899, a keel guard and a Sony stereo. None of it is installed yet, I'm waiting to get another humminbird for the bow, and will just have it all done at once.

How do you like the Humminbird 899? I am about to order one today and want some feedback.
