HawgBoss44 Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Okay guys, so this is the first bass boat ive ever owned. Ive used the trolling motor many times with no problems. I don't know how, or when this happened, but somehow the arrow faces the opposite way the boat is actually going. It will point forward, yet the boat will go backwards. Not sure if i put it away wrong, maybe something got twisted up. I tried messing with it and spinnning it around but it will not cooperate. any suggestions? Thank alot guys Quote
FishinCop646 Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Was it torn apart? It sounds like the magnets spun. Quote

FishinCop646 Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Maybe your shaft turned inside the housing. Is your prop spinning counter clockwise, as it should? If so, that confirms what I just mentioned. If not, it is a polarity issue. Quote
FishinCop646 Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 The only other option is the arrow simply is off. Remove the cap and set it back in place. Quote

HomersTomaco Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 The arrow rotates. You just turn it when you put the motor down so it's correct Quote
spartyon8 Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 As said above, my motorguide arrow will spin by hand. Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted August 27, 2014 Super User Posted August 27, 2014 There is an L shaped bracket inside the head that may be bent. I've had it happen to mine and I just take it off and reshape it then put it back and realign the arrow. Just take the screws out and pull the top off to get to it. Quote
warpath58 Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 I Had one do the same thing and its a easy fix 4 screws pop the top and turn the arrow just like the man above suggested Fishincop Quote
Super User WIGuide Posted August 27, 2014 Super User Posted August 27, 2014 Make sure the prop is spinning in the right direction first just to double check that it's operating correctly. If it is then you need to realign the arrow. Pick up on it and turn it so it matches the correct direction. It will be stiff to turn but you can do. Quote
Team_Dougherty Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Make sure the polarity is correct on on the plug it is plugged into. Quote
