Okay guys, so this is the first bass boat ive ever owned. Ive used the trolling motor many times with no problems. I don't know how, or when this happened, but somehow the arrow faces the opposite way the boat is actually going. It will point forward, yet the boat will go backwards. Not sure if i put it away wrong, maybe something got twisted up. I tried messing with it and spinnning it around but it will not cooperate. any suggestions? Thank alot guys

Was it torn apart? It sounds like the magnets spun.

It was never torn apart. It was used alot though

Maybe your shaft turned inside the housing. Is your prop spinning counter clockwise, as it should? If so, that confirms what I just mentioned. If not, it is a polarity issue.

The only other option is the arrow simply is off. Remove the cap and set it back in place.

Hopefully lol this would be the easiest fix

As said above, my motorguide arrow will spin by hand.

There is an L shaped bracket inside the head that may be bent.  I've had it happen to mine and I just take it off and reshape it then put it back and realign the arrow.  Just take the screws out and pull the top off to get to it.

I Had one do the same thing and its a easy fix 4 screws pop the top and turn the arrow just like the man above suggested Fishincop

Make sure the prop is spinning in the right direction first just to double check that it's operating correctly. If it is then you need to realign the arrow. Pick up on it and turn it so it matches the correct direction. It will be stiff to turn but you can do.
