chris55552 Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 Just wondering if anyone can provide feedback for the Duckett Ghost rods. Quote
JGBassinAL Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 They turn yellow when exposed to a lot of sunlight (when left out on deck while fishing). If that doesn't bother you then they are a decent rod for $100, but the *** *** Black is a way better rod for $100. Also Cabelas has the Abu Garcia Veritas on sale for $39.99 right now online. It is a better rod than the Duckett Ghost as well IMO. 1 Quote
GaterB Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 I'm not seeing the Veritas sale on the site. One will be on the way to my house tomorrow if I find it. Any ideas? Quote
Super User iceintheveins Posted August 27, 2014 Super User Posted August 27, 2014 Is the *** a pretty light rod that's durable? I've heard mostly good things about them. Quote
ABW Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 I'm not seeing the Veritas sale on the site. One will be on the way to my house tomorrow if I find it. Any ideas? I saw them yesterday afternoon for 39.99 too. They must've stopped the sale because I checked just now and they're at 79.99 Quote
Super User smalljaw67 Posted August 27, 2014 Super User Posted August 27, 2014 The Ghost is light but so is the *** and the HMG from Fenwick, yes, I'm a Fenwick fan, it is hard to beat what you get with them. The ghost is the lightest of these with the HMG the heaviest but not heavy, the *** has the biggest following and is possibly the best rod in that range but the HMG offers the best warranty as it is lifetime for $99. Truth be told, most every rod at that price point is going to make you happy so whatever you get it is going to be good. Quote
Chief 2 Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Have a Ghost and Veritas also. I like the action on the Ghost a bit better. Both are great poles. Quote
Bedore Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Darn, Wish the Vertias was still on sale for 39.99, I have been wanting one. But I am also considering the Duckett Ghost as well. Quote
mad basser Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 I'm gonna give the goast a try I have read alot of bad stuff on the *** I hope I'm making the right choice Quote
chris55552 Posted August 28, 2014 Author Posted August 28, 2014 Same here mad basser, I too am going to pick up a ghost saturday on my way to toledo bend. Based on my research the ducketts are just really good rods. In case you didnt know Duckett will release a micro magic pro here in the next few months it should be a really good rod that fixes problems of the first micro magic Quote
JGBassinAL Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 I don't want to bash any brand, but there are a lot better options at every price range than any Duckett. Quote
Super User .ghoti. Posted August 28, 2014 Super User Posted August 28, 2014 If they listed actions, line weight and lure weight ratings they might get some consideration from me. Without that data, I am simply not interested. Quote
mad basser Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 I have owned many rods that had the specs on them but wasnt even close to what they claim to be I go by feel more than what they say the rod is sometime I think they lie Quote
