What type of base coat does everyone use for painting their plastic crankbaits with an airbrush. I will be using water based paint for the color. Would a base of white acrylic work fine?

Thanks.

Usually on plastic baits I scuff sand the surface with a foam backed sanding pad, wipe with alcohol and shoot with Createx white. Works for me, the bait pictured is one of Stamina's 2 1/2" bodies.
