plumworm Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Did I read that AOY report right. 53rd. place which means he will not be in the AOY championship in Escanaba Mi. or the Classic next year? Wow. Quote
Super User Jrob78 Posted August 24, 2014 Super User Posted August 24, 2014 That is correct. He had his worst season ever, by a mile. Quote
Super User Sam Posted August 24, 2014 Super User Posted August 24, 2014 For some reason both Kevin and Jonathan are not tearing them up this year. Happens to a lot athletes. They will be back. Just look at what Ike is doing this year on the tournament trail. He has been hot and cold. Quote
Super User gulfcaptain Posted August 24, 2014 Super User Posted August 24, 2014 He could still get in through the viewers pole and get a second chance just like Ike did last year and I believe they have another event so he can still make it if he wins there. But I may be worng. Quote

slimshad Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 Could he fish the three open tournys? Winner gets in. IKE did it last year. St. Clair might be in his wheelhouse??? Quote
Logan S Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 Could he fish the three open tournys? Winner gets in. IKE did it last year. St. Clair might be in his wheelhouse??? To do that you have to fish all three of an entire series to be eligible for the Classic spot ...Northern, Central, or Southern. All three series only have an event or two left so he can't go that route since he didn't fish the previous events. He's out. He's the best of all time (arguably), but this year definitely had a lot of shallow water flipping style tournaments and those are not typically not in his wheelhouse. Chickamauga was really the only one that wasn't and he almost won that one...I'm sure he'll be back on fire next year. Quote
EmersonFish Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 The irony is KVD NOT making it is a testament to what an accomplishment is has been to qualify for 24 in a row. And a big bummer as well that the AOY Championship that he narrowly missed out on after so many years of success is in Michigan. Not that I feel sorry for him. He's had a great run, and he'll be back (likely with a vengeance). Quote
"BRB" Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 I read an article on BASS website about it. They said this was his first classic he missed since 1990! And wrost he ever done in the points. His second wrist was 26th and was in the top ten every time other then those two. That guy can flat out find and catch fish like no one else. I feel for the other guy on tour next year. He probably going come out swinging. Quote
ColdSVT Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 I still cant get over how wasnt in the top 50 at cayuga...that lake is such an awesome fishery and should have been right up his alley. Jerks, cranks, spinner baits and swimbaits always work there However, it is what it is. Its called fishing foe a reason. KVD will be back...he hs more wins left in him for sure. He is too good not to win again Quote
Ginosocalbass Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 I'm happy he didnt make it in, its a nice change of pace. Quote
Super User Felix77 Posted August 27, 2014 Super User Posted August 27, 2014 KVD will be back with a vengeance! If this doesn't fuel him going into next season then I don't know what will. Quote
slimshad Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Whos KVD? He is a professional perch fisherman. Made alot of cash catching them. Northern fella. Likes smallmouth too I think. Quote
5 Dollar Fishing Game Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Maybe Strike King lures will finally go down in price. ;-) Quote
Super User aavery2 Posted September 1, 2014 Super User Posted September 1, 2014 Maybe Strike King lures will finally go down in price. ;-) Doubtful, I think four of the top five in the AOY race are Strike King guys. Quote
