Fictional topic , but interesting as well ,

we all have a way we are fishing now, and we have are tackle boxes with our assortment of lures as well ,we also or should have a go to lure that stands out for each of us, a best ,favorite, whatever lure ,but what would you do if lets say it wasn't ,then what would you do ?could you still do as good without your#1lure ?

mine the plastic worm, couldn't ! no way , that's my scenario,what's yours ?

this is all fake and know wouldn't happen, but if it was to happen.

your#1 gone ,your fishing stay the same or go downhill?

If you only have 1 confidence bait I'd say leave it at home and go fun fishing sometime with new stuff. Build up your arsenal. I've got a number of baits and several styles that I fall back on. It's all about adapting, and sometimes you have to fall back and punt.

I know on tourny days all of my rods are rigged with my top confidence baits on deck at the start...sometimes they change throughout the day...sometimes they dont!

So i run out of one or lose another i have somethinf to fall back on that i have confidence in

If you can´t fish without your favorite lure ----> learn to play golf.

Evolve or quit.  If I only needed one bait then that would take away from my joy of figuring out which rod to use and what to fish with. Might as well get a cain pole, string, and a worm.  Take one of my favorites away, oh well, I have 6 others I can fish just as easy. A good angler and fisherman uses several differnent techniques and baits to become successful.  Just like a mechanic, he can't work on your car with just a cresent wrench.  He needs tools to do his job right.  And might as well forget about golf too....too many clubs, might have to make choices on which one to use....j/k

I believe the only reason that people catch more fish on there go to lure, is because they use that lure most of the time, and so inevitably you catch more fish on that lure.

My tackle collection only contains baits that I have confidence in.   I find that the proverbial "go-to bait," is mostly psychological.
