rchiuz Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 Hi BR Community, Can anyone recommend a good PFD that doesn't have a maintenance cost to it? (inflatable PFD) Quote
Super User Fishes in trees Posted August 21, 2014 Super User Posted August 21, 2014 2014 BPS Master Catalog - pages 417 thru 421. Ignore the inflatables. They all work. Pick one. They all work. Me, I like my inflatable, because it is light enough and out of the way enough that I wear it. Quote
rchiuz Posted August 21, 2014 Author Posted August 21, 2014 Do you have to check it every now and then to make sure it inflates? Quote

papajoe222 Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Do you have to check it every now and then to make sure it inflates? If it's a manual inflated one, no. As long as the CO2 cartridge hasn't been punctured, the only thing you need to do is inspect it. The same goes for the automatic cartridge, but the 'bobbin' should be replaced if it shows any sign of moisture absorption or every few seasons as per the owners manual. You can check the bladder by inflating it by mouth Quote
