Dissidente78 Posted August 21, 2014 Author Posted August 21, 2014 what model of nrx would you choose? Quote
Super User *Hootie Posted August 21, 2014 Super User Posted August 21, 2014 I have the 803c, J&W rod. It's 6'8" med. hvy. Retails at $500.00. Hootie Quote
Zimobass Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 Bom dia from Africa Edgar. Best rod I know will be great for you is the NRX 893. So capable and sensitive. Team this with a new Shimano Antares and you will never look back. Expensive combo, but sure your Euro is stronger than US$ !! Quote
Dissidente78 Posted August 21, 2014 Author Posted August 21, 2014 "new Shimano Antares" dont you think 26 Inches Per Crank is a little too much for crancking? Quote
rangerjockey Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 I think the CBR 845 is a great all around crankbait rod, pretty much do everything you need . As to reels I'd just go with the curado I or if you can find one the E5. talk to the guys at American Legacy. Quote
Super User *Hootie Posted August 21, 2014 Super User Posted August 21, 2014 Scratch my suggestion if you are looking for specifically a crankbait rod. Hootie Quote
Super User Sam Posted August 21, 2014 Super User Posted August 21, 2014 The G. Loomis cranking rod CBR 843 7-foot medium moderate fast action tip baitcaster rod. Part of their crankbait series. You can go with a slow or fast retrieve Shimano bait caster. An E5 to a 7 to 1 reel. Check out the various G.Loomis crankbait rods. Do your research, too, and let us know what you decide to do. Quote
Zimobass Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 dont you think 26 Inches Per Crank is a little too much for crancking? Not really. Ideally you would want around 22", but it's easy enough to slow down the retrieve. Has plenty of power and really smooth. Quote
