kayakkrack Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 What's your overall favorite brand of braid? Quote
Super User Catch and Grease Posted August 19, 2014 Super User Posted August 19, 2014 power pro super slick/thread *2, Power pro super 8 slick is awesome! Normal power pro and suffix 832 are also good. Quote
papajoe222 Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 Suffix. BTW, there is a forum for this. You may get more responses there. Quote
Smokinal Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 ^^^Now why did you have to go and do that? We had something going here... Quote
kayakkrack Posted August 20, 2014 Author Posted August 20, 2014 Thanks, looks like I'm picking up some power pro super slick! Quote

Weld's Largemouth Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 suffix 832 advanced beats all 1 Quote
ABW Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 I like original Power Pro, although I'm looking to try some 832 soon Quote
Tylertut Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 I'll put in another vote for original Power Pro. The couple times I've spooled with Super 8 Slick I didn't like how it behaved compared to the original. Quote
Super User Darren. Posted August 20, 2014 Super User Posted August 20, 2014 Power Pro original in yellow is my braid of choice. Given how expensive braid is, I'm not biting at the bit to try 832, others. I have spent a lot of money on braid and kept coming back to original PP, so that's where I've stayed put. Not that I won't venture out an try something new in the future, mind you! 1 Quote
War Eagle 44 Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Power Pro (original & S8S) and P-Line. I'm really looking forward to trying their new 8 carrier braid. Quote
ZB85 Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 I'm going to be the odd one out in this thread but i like sunline FX2 Quote
Super User rippin-lips Posted August 20, 2014 Super User Posted August 20, 2014 Original power pro for me. Been using it for a long time with no troubles. Purchased 832 recently to try because of all the people I hear say how great it is. Nothing bad to say about it but it's nothing special. Seems noiser to me honestly. 1 Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted August 20, 2014 Super User Posted August 20, 2014 Don't favor any brand. I've done just fine with every major company's line, sale price gets my attention which seems to be PP most of the time. Quote
Super User fishballer06 Posted August 20, 2014 Super User Posted August 20, 2014 Suffix 832 for me. Quote
Hogsticker Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Sufix performance braid. It's somewhat noisy, but doesn't seem to be as affected by wind and tip wrap in my experience. Don't care much for the 8 carrier braids. They may be quieter, but are to soft and limp for my taste. I tried 832 and it seemed grabby. The Ss 8 frayed like crazy. Original power pro is too rough, so I found a happy medium with performance braid. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted August 20, 2014 Super User Posted August 20, 2014 Tuf-Line Tournament 8 is my new favorite. Others include Kanzen, Sufix 832 and Tuf-Line HeviCore Quote
Super User Felix77 Posted August 20, 2014 Super User Posted August 20, 2014 I'm partial to PowerPro and the new Seaguar Smackdown. Quote
Driftb Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 For spinning I like Fireline the best. For casting, Power Pro. The lighter PP line always seems to get wind knotted on a spin setup. Fireline wil last for years on a reel. Heavy PP wokrs great on a casting setup. Quote
