Hey guys, so I am staying at a house off Lake Seneca, just above Valois Point, and have been fishing from the docks and fishing off kayak about a mile up and a mile down, hitting the docks, the weed breaks, everything.....and I cannot catch a single thing,  I am using, crankbaits, that go 1-4ft and 6-10ft, white spinnerbaits, inline spinners, stick baits, super spooks, lippless cranks,(from kayak and dock) and minnows and bobber(from dock)

does anyone have any suggestions or recommendations that may help with this situation, perhaps a new bait, or maybe advice on how to fish from kayak ( I am quite new at it)  I am going to be reading some articles so if you guys know any that might help it would be much appreciated

Thanks guys!

I can't help with seneca specifically, but I've been fishing many of the surrounding finger lakes this summer. I was at keuka on tuesday. One approach that has produced fish on them all has been pitching soft plastics under docks. I've been using a zoom super brush hog with good success. This technique even works well in the middle of the day when the sun is high and the fish are looking for shade. What is critical is getting the lure deep under the dock. You won't get strikes from the outside edges. Most strikes come on the initial drop.

ive been trying some tubes for smallies, no luck so far, good to know that you had some good fishing, what were you pulling from under the docks?

I wanna try it but the weeds around here have been particularly bad and even weedless rigs come back with weeds

The weeds are thick around the docks for sure. I normally fish with beaver type baits, but they pick up a lot of weeds pitching the docks. So, I switched to the superhog because it slides through the weeds better. It has a slender tube-like body but has flappers on the back like a beaver. While it doesn't quite have the bulky profile of a beaver, it does have a lot of action with its various appendages.

I rig it texas style with a 1/4 oz bullet and peg the weight. I will also grease it up with some Megastrike to help it slide through the weeds better.

Another lure suggestion is a suspending jerk bait along the outside weed edges.
