Is Trilene 100% Xl Fluorocarbon Any Good?

This short review says it has all of the benefits of monofilament and fluorocarbon combined with no negative aspects of fluorcarbon.

Is it really that good?

I'm guessing not since I never hear of anyone using it.

Not sure about the XL but I use Berkeley 100% fluorocarbon and really like it. It has some memory but it casts well, is sensitive, has good knot strength and is very manageable with KVD Line and lure sprayed before every trip.

I am not a fan of fluorocarbon, I've tried just about every brand of floro out there and it has too much memory for my taste. The best mono line I have every used is the German brand D-A-M Tectan premium plus sometimes its had to find but worth the effort. I think they are replacing it with a new improved version called superior. if you want to try a great line at a good price pick up a spool I found the last spool I bought on Ebay.

It's specifically meant for spinning gear. I'm sure it will take awhile for some reviews to come out. I would try it if I didn't have about 500 yards of 8lb sniper already lol

Yap, it's meant for spinning gear.  If you read the back of the package it somewhat explains it's ideal uses.  The regular Trilene 100% fluorocarbon is great line for baitcasters.

If you want a softer, more limp fluorocarbon then just buy Sunline Sniper FC and use KVD L&L once a week. Works for me...

I would welcome this line if it does what it says.  I use 6lb 100% now and it continues to flow off the reel even after the bail is closed.  I practice all the line management tricks and still fight it.  As a result I have gone to braid with a leader.  I still think that flouro is better, just not worth the trouble.

I had 12lb XL fluoro on my Chronarch CI4+ and found it to be 'ok.' It's much softer than 100%, that stuff is garbage.

It reminds me a lot of Invizx. It handled quite well, but stretch and abrasion resistance were average; same as Invizx. If you want fluoro, but don't like how fluoro handles, it's a good choice. I prefer a much stiffer line for better sensitivity and abrasion resistance, personally.

I've been using 6lb XL on my dropshot rod for a couple of months now. It's definitely softer and more manageable than the original 100%. Not noticeably more stretchy either. I'm happy enough with it. Best 6lb fluoro I've used was P-Line Halo, when I use up all the stuff I have now I'll probably get another spool of that. Harder and more difficult to manage than berkley XL for sure, but seemed to last for ages.

I picked up 15lb test spider wire 100% flouro at bps last week. 200 yards for 8 bucks. Couldn't beat it. The line memory isn't too bad. I use it on an abu garcia silver max. It's pretty sensitive. Can't comment on the knot strength as I only caught 16 dinks all weekend.
