Super User FishTank Posted August 17, 2014 Super User Posted August 17, 2014 Well short version, this line is not that good. I picked up some 12lb of this and at $12.99 for 100 yards it's a couple of bucks more than Trilene and Seagur Invisix ($/yard). It does not cast well, memory is like mono, the stretch is OK but only after a few hours it started to fray, peal and crack. Worst of all I went to Gander Mountain and had them put the line on. They guy did a good job but they failed to tell me that they charge $5 to put line on now. No where in the store is there a sign posted that says it now costs. Had I known I would have done it myself. Now back to the line> I called Gander Mountain and told them the line I had was bad, they were nice enough to let me exchange it for the same thing. They gave me what they said was from a different lot. I spooled it again myself and guess what, it was exactly the same. I called them back and I exchanged it for some Invisix. This Sufix line is not the worst I have used but it's pretty close. The most disappointing thing was the casting and how bad it frayed on open water. I was glad Gander Mountain was able to help out. I'm not one to return fishing line but this I think qualifies. Quote
JGBassinAL Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 I actually had that exact line on a crankin setup and threw it around rocks and caught a handful of 4-5 lb smallies and plenty 2-4 lb on it and I thought it handled well. It wasn't amazing on abrasion resistance but I was throwing crank baits on rocks so I was checking my line and knots every few casts and retying often. I did start experiencing the fraying you are talking about, but that was after about two months and a fluorocarbon like Sufix is going to need to be respooled probably every month or month and a half, depending on how much you fish. Overall I didn't think it was that bad of line, although for twice the price you can get 200 yds of Sunline Sniper (two times more line) which is ten times the line Suffix invisible fluoro is. 1 Quote

I usually read reviews on most things before I buy but I should have read the reviews of this line on Tackle Warehouse. Some people had the same issue. Quote
Super User new2BC4bass Posted August 19, 2014 Super User Posted August 19, 2014 It does not cast well, memory is like mono This has me scratching my head. Most of the mono I use has very little memory and casts very well. It would have to be a soft fluoro to handle as well as mono. Some monos I use: Big Game, XL, Siege, Elite, Super Natural, Triple Fish, Red Cast, CX. All cast well although Triple Fish hasn't been on long enough to tell how much memory it may develop after sitting for some time. The Sufix lines handle extremely well, and I don't use any line conditioner on them, although I will use it on Big Game. Quote
Diggy Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 It's the only fluro I've used that has ever splintered. It looked like a banana peel when scratched and even when you cut the line to tie on a new lure. You could actually peel away fibers from it. I will pull it off of the reel it's on now and fill it with braid. It's not even worthy of being used as leader material. Quote
