Are either of these reels any good? I have a 100$ buget. I am open to other options too.

The Accurist is pretty good.  I have the older model and they are rock solid reels. Keep them maintained...drop of oil once a month on the berings and they are good to go.

Right now Tackle Warehouse has the Quantum Catalyst on sale for $108.88, not many care for Quantum but this is a decent spinning reel that will last. The difference is it has the titanium bait wire along with a magnetic bail trip so there isn't any bail springs to break. I have an 11 year old Quantum Kinetic, I got it in 2003 when they came out with the titanium bail with magnetic trip and it is still working great to this day, I got it just because every spinning reel I had up to that point would have bail springs break, so add the 10 bucks, you'll be glad you did.

Between the two, I have used the accurist and I love it. Do you have a gander mtn near you? Right now they have them on sale for $39.99 through the rest of this weekend. Rest assured, you will not find a better reel for 40 bucks. If you aren't able to catch the sale, it is still a solid contender at full price. I would also throw pflueger spinning reels into consideration at $100.

I am not the biggest fan of Quantum reels as a whole. However I am somewhat fond of there spinning reels despite the fact I would never own a casting reel of theirs. I have some older Energy Spinning reels from the late 90s. They are still up and running just fine performance wise.

I do have the Okuma RTX spinning reel. I bought one as soon as they came out. Scored it for something like $70 after a rebate and sale price did their damage. The reel is a solid buy though I was hoping it would be somewhat close to my Stradic CI4. First the reel is incredibly light. The body material is decent though not overly great. The handle knobs are comfortable and retrieve is smooth but not a refined smooth. Casting distance is average and there really isn't a noticeable line management system for this reel like what you might find in other manufacturers. I have noticed a few more "phantom loops" showing up despite doing the usual closing the bail by hand and using line conditioner.

A Shimano Symetre or if you could snag a Saros used or on sale for around $100 and some change would be a better buy in my opinion.

I have no experience with the Okuma- but I will vouch for the quantum. great reel. I have multiple quantum reels- and every one of them has been a rock solid reel for many many years.
