Went out to a new to me lake yesterday for the second time this week and had a pretty good time.  Caught 18 total with 4 in the 19-20" range in about 5 hours.  I will definitely be going to this lake again....oh and all the big girls were caught on zoom horny toads :)  All the fish were super fat and healthy.

I will break down the area a little more next time out for sure....I need to get my depth finder rigged up on my new kayak though so i can see what all is under the water and why they were located where they were since it was a pretty large lilly pad field

Looks like a great time. Is your new Commander a 14 footer?

no, this is the new one that i am trying to sell so i haven't rigged anything on it yet, got it as a warranty replacement...had a buyer but he flaked out.  I am not a big fan of the commander 140----a little to big for what i want to use it for.  Seems like the sweet spot for me and my uses are boats in the 12' range.

Ah. Explains the "new" look.

12 footers are the longest I like, as well. Started with a 10 foot yak, loved the maneuverability, but there was too little storage space. Moken is making some pretty nice stuff with the new Lure series. Got to get some hands-on with the 11.5 down in the Hampton branch of the Appomattox River Company. Nice unit. Need to see if the seats can hang in there. Read of some issues with the in-between settings.

Anyhow, love to see where technology and innovation can take kayaking designs....

i checked out the lure in the midlothian appomattox location and the deck and top of the boat was pretty nice but after checking out the hull it looks like it would not be too maneuverable.  May not be a big deal for a lot of people but my boats see a decent amount of river time and right now owning a flat water and a river boat are not in the cards other wise i would have a coosa and a flat water boat like a cuda, lure, ride etc....that new slayer propel 10' boat is super intriguing to me too....same cockpit size as the larger boats but weighs only 65lbs or something and still has a decent weight capacity....
