JWOA Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 What would you be throwing this time.of year? Not quote that time to cool off but it soon will be getting there. I thought about just pitching and flipping plastics...other suggestions? Quote
Super User Tywithay Posted August 15, 2014 Super User Posted August 15, 2014 It's still 100 degrees here. Been deep cranking, drop shots, jigs, and pitching plastics mainly. Quote
Super User fishballer06 Posted August 15, 2014 Super User Posted August 15, 2014 I've been throwing topwater in the early morning and at dusk. Quote
Super User Catch and Grease Posted August 15, 2014 Super User Posted August 15, 2014 lately I've been starting with a top water like a buzz bait, frog, or popper in the morning then when that slows ill switch to a crank bait, Texas-Rig, Carolina-Rig, start flipping and pitching, or something along those lines... Its really different on a day to day basis. Quote
Todd2 Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 Sunday I was pitching to standing timber in 15-20 feet. Wednesday, I fished a smaller, shallower lake and wore them out by bringing a spinner bait back through the weeds on the bank. Like said above...every day is different. Quote
Super User WRB Posted August 16, 2014 Super User Posted August 16, 2014 The summer period gives bass a wide variety of prey choices, they are comfortable and well fed. It's the bass anglers that can't handle the heat and don't seem to be able to adjust to the changes in prey preference and locations the bass prefer. When it's hot, fish at night or slow down and fish more methodically where you know the bass are located. Tom Quote
