Siebert Outdoors Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 What colors do you guys use to replicate a bluegill? Quote
senko_77 Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 My favorite bluegill skirt has black on the top, purple and green sides, and a few orange strips on the bottom. If you put this on a head that has matching colors it looks awesome. Strike King makes a real good BG skirt Quote
jomatty Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 the B.G skirts i assemble are very similar to senkos with a few strands of chartreusse mixed in. i think its a lot of fun to spend entirely too much time putting together skirts to mimic a particular baitfish. when i spend this much time on one ill often hand tie it to make it really perfect (i get more body and puffiness when i tie the skirts). i usually pair my b.g skirts with either yamamoto or hand poured single tailed grubs, in smoke with black or purple flake, or sometimes with a pumpkinseed grub. i like the single tailed grubs for mimicing baitfish. matt Quote
