I do believe that a second hook in worms would probably increase my hook-up ratio.  However, realistically, I'll never do it.  Should be simple, but I'll file it away in my 'too much effort bag of tricks'.

  I have enough trouble threading one hook into a mag worm perfectly straight.

Haha I just like to use stingers on spinnerbaits and buzzbaits... Occasionally a frog but not often

I just hate having to order terminal tackle and none of the shops around here have stinger hooks so I'm just gonna start buying good trebles and tying them like this.

 On a spinnerbait or a buzzbait, that rig will be problematic around any cover.

 

The difference between a single trailer hook and a  treble stinger hook is the stinger moves freely all over the place and a trailer hook stays tight to your bait (more or less) allowing it to come thought cover, most of the time.

If I'm fishing the stinger its not around thick cover anyways, I prefer it over a normal trailer hook anywhere I can get away with it... Just my preference

Never seen a stinger used that way, this is how we do it.  I use it with a frozen (thawed out) baitfish, J hook to a treble using a single strand piano wire.  J hook is hooked thru the top of the head and the treble embedded in the side of the bait.

A lot of guys up here rig sucker minnows for muskie that way.

A lot of head boats won't allow this rig, that treble can be dangerous with a fish that flops around a lot, on private boat it's fine.  For a toothy critter using a dead baitfish I would much prefer what we call a king rig, 2-3-4 trailer hooks down the spine of the bait.  I think a better hookup would be obtained for a muskie and less cut offs.

You mean this rig? that's pretty sweet, I might have to try that the next time I go salt fishing!

I would use a 4/0 or 5/0 hook with only 1 treble, 3/0 is a good size.  Be careful with this rig, if the fish is only hooked by the leading J hook, the treble could be dangerous with a flopping fish.

You should be careful with all fish, I caught 3 or 4 pound fish on the beach last year, flopped so much one of the trebles on a top water got embedded in my shin.  I could not bend a 4x hook to back it out until I found some big dude........lol.
