Hot n Tot Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 Anyone use this lure? How does it compare to the Heddon Torpedos? I understand that it is only 1/4 oz balsa so it weighs about the same as the Tiny Torpedo, and I'm wondering if this lure would fish any different. Anyone have any idea? thanks Quote
Super User Raul Posted August 14, 2014 Super User Posted August 14, 2014 I have several, I fish them just like the Torpedo, of course, it's a much better quality bait than the Torpedo, you don't have to change or improve anything. Quote
Super User fishballer06 Posted August 14, 2014 Super User Posted August 14, 2014 I've got a couple and I've been having really good success on them this season. I like that they're a slightly longer profile than Heddon, and that they come stock with better hooks. Work them just the same and let the magic happen. Quote

Better hooks, better hook hangers, better blade material, better finish, better patterns, better hook eye, yup, definately a much better built and much better quality bait than the Heddon. But of course, it´s a Rapala lure. 1 Quote
Hot n Tot Posted August 15, 2014 Author Posted August 15, 2014 I've been unable to find any Skitter Props locally, so I picked up a couple of Kelly J's. Try them out tomorrow hopefully! Quote
Super User iceintheveins Posted August 15, 2014 Super User Posted August 15, 2014 Very good lure and makes a lot of racket. Casts just fine with 12 - 14 pound mono on a baitcaster too. Quote
