Between me and my dad we have bough 5 Carbonlite rods and 4 of them have had to be returned for problems with the guides. I have also had to return Bass Pro reels before. I take very good care of my stuff, so I feel like this is a problem with the products Bass Pro is putting out. I will be avoiding their rods and reels for now on.

5 year warranty on the *** and 1 year warranty on the Ghost. IMO it's no contest with the ***'s blank being so great for it's price range. Everything else about the *** is personal preference and if you do a search on here you'll see the same people loving them or having issues with them. Just about everyone agrees the blank is nice and sensitive.

*** is far and away the best blank in the price range. I would suggest getting your hands on a couple to make sure you like the feel though. The reel seats are kind of funky and the handles are very short, big turn off for me personally. The *** Green has a much more comfortable handle, but more limited specs. I wasn't impressed by the Carbonlite rods. Ghost would be ok if it had better guides, even though I hate a white rod.

I believe the *** is probably the best 100$ or slightly more, Rod today.... The exposed area under the reel seat has a graphite strip that many don't care for, me included but for the Backup use of the rod, it's fine and also fishes quite well. I have not fished it solidly for 8 or 10 hours a day but @ 3 to 5 I have not been overly bothered by it. It would be my pick.

Never used a Ghost.  Have both of the others.  Love the *** blank.  Prefer the handle on the Carbonlite even if it is a little big.  Short I can live with.  The thin handle of the *** isn't good for me with one-hand casts.  Good thing I normally cast with two!  :teeth:

I preordered the *** Blacks as soon as I seen them at ICast. I haven't looked back either. For the most part all I fish are $100 rods. My arsenal is Omens, Veritas, Jadewood, and Koverts. I had a few Carbonlites and a Ghost. I just hated the feel of the Ghost but I don't like the feel of any Duckett rod. The Carbonlite rods are great rods If you have the patience to stand in the store and examine every single rod to find the best rod. I am slowly converting all my rods over to Omens and Denali Koverts. Personally I believe the Denali Kovert is the best rod on the Market but the *** Black is a very close second.

I haven't used any of them, but I would get the *** Black. They have pretty good reviews, and I wouldn't mind the handle. 2nd choice would be the Ghost.

So you haven't used any but you're basically recommending one? That's a bit irresponsible.

Not to hijack the thread, but are the fast action Kovert rods as fast as the *** fast actions? The omens seem to have faster fast actions.

***'s, why...well have 2 one black and just got the green.  Don't like the handles on the Ducketts and the Carbonlites. Love the handle set up on the Omens and the lenghts.  I don't knock BPS rods as I do have quite a few of their rods, just not the Carbonlites.  So I guess my vote would be either the black or the green....just make sure it's an ***.

Yes they are just as fast. To me the only difference in the two rods are the Kovert is lighter, thinner and has a touch more sensitivity. But I like the handle on the *** better and paired with the Tatula the *** feels better in my hand

Yeah I have the *** and was just wanting opinions on what everyone else feels. I love my set up I have now with the *** Rod and ***. Just wanted a view inputs on other rod's in the price range. Thank's guy's.
