Super User Catch and Grease Posted August 10, 2014 Super User Posted August 10, 2014 If the fishing is good during the night do you guys think the fishing will be slower come morning on average? Like it seems like the days I hear of people doing really good at night, I won't do as great that morning.... What's your opinion? Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted August 10, 2014 Global Moderator Posted August 10, 2014 Yes. I've had some great nights of fishing when it got really tough after the sun had been up for a couple hours, usually during the really hot summer months it seems. 1 Quote
Super User senile1 Posted August 10, 2014 Super User Posted August 10, 2014 In the hot summer months I have read that nights around the full moon can be excellent for night fishing, though I have done very little night fishing to verify this for myself. I believe the idea is that bass have the advantage in the low light of a bright moon and they really put on the feed bag. I have heard it said that fishing the next day can be rather slow though I know someone is going to post that bass don't just bite when hungry. It seems there could be some logic to this idea though. I like this excuse and use it often. 1 Quote
Fish Murderer 71 Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Full moon make for long days on the water. The fish seem to have longer "shut down" periods during the daylight hours. Quote
Super User Catt Posted August 11, 2014 Super User Posted August 11, 2014 When talking about a "morning" bite, a "mid-day", an "evening" bite, or "night" bite. We try timing the "bite" by looking at the proverbial click on the wall,a " morning" bite maybe 8-10 am on the bass's clock. On any given body of water one might find a "morning" bite no " mid-day" bite or "evening" bite but a " night" bite. Or any combination! 1 Quote
