aftermath431 Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 I been bass fishing for a long time. I have notice when smoking cigs and bass fishing I don't catch as many bass. I use scent eliminator soap for my hand but still when smoking and you touch a bag of worms your tackle box ext.......... your getting scent on everything. they make scent eliminator spray for hunting that you can spray on your cloth and everything else so I was wondering why there isn't one for fishing? I would like to be able to use a scent eliminator spray on my tackle box, fishing reels ext.. Is there something in the hunting scent eliminator spray that bass don't like? has anyone ever tryed using a scent eliminator spray on things like tackle boxes, bags of worms ( outside of bag). things like this? aftermath431 Posted August 9, 2014 Author Posted August 9, 2014 I think you would catch more if you didn't that's just what I have experienced myself. when I don't smoke as much fishing and don't touch the lures. Still would like to know if scent eliminator spray would work on things like fhing rods, tackle box.ext our is there something in it the bass wouldn't like? Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted August 9, 2014 Super User Posted August 9, 2014 Well, here in Tennessee our bass, both brown & green, like tobacco, beer and whiskey! If you think it is effecting your fishing I HIGHLY recommend MegaStrike. I believe it causes bass to hold a bait longer and the goo is VERY user friendly. 2 Quote
Super User bigbill Posted August 11, 2014 Super User Posted August 11, 2014 I wash my hands with big orange before I go fishing. I do not touch gasoline before I go fishing. I use scents and sometimes do a small squirt and rub it in my hands. For my fish lures I use a shad scent "Yum" For my crawfish lures I use a crawfish scent. For my worm and crawler plastics I use a baitmate worm & crawler scent. I have a frog juice for frogs. I match the scent to the lure I'm using. I don't smoke while I'm fishing. Quote
Slade House Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 for smoking there is a spray called "banish" look it up it does the trick or the hunting scent eliminator works too. or when you smoke just wear a glove on that finger. Quote
boostr Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 I kid, rub some JJs on your hands. That stuff will kill any odor if you don't mind smelling like garlic bread. Quote
fishhook Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 Just spit some Evan Williams Bourbon on your hands and bait.. it will drive them bass wild! Quote

fishhook Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 Does it drive them wild or get them drunk? To get them drunk requires letting your worm soak overnight first. I don't recommend it though.. there is nothing worse than a drunk bass on the end of your line. Quote
