Yesterday while fishing I lost a bass atleast 7lbs on a jig while dragging her through thick grass and tree branches. Does anyone know what kind of grass this is and what lures would you use to get through it. Iv'e been using weedless worms and a swimjig.

That looks like one of the weeds similar to Hydrilla. There is another one that looks like it with subtile differences in the leaves.

Do a web search for Hydrilla, and Elodea (Egeria),

Vertical presentations (flipping, pitching) work the best to reduce lost fish and hangups.

It does look like Elodea. Looks like it's time to pull out the punching jig and give it a go.

Thanks for the response.

Anacharis (Egeria densa). Popular aquarium plant native to Northern America...hence not Hydrilla.  Hydrilla is from Asia and was transplanted from cuttings in the aquarium trade that made it into watersheds.

It looks like the kind of veggies that hold bass, and from your description, the bait you're using works in it.  If anything, you just need to figure out a way to drag those puppies out of the slop once you have them hooked!
