Question, I plan to throw the BBZ 6 in floater in a canal that has stained water. Can I get away with straight braid or should I have a leader on? I tie decent knots but worry if I don't tie a good uni-uni knot I might just flip it out there and never get it back. >_<

I usually dont worry about a leader when I am fishing topwater and I have not seen where it matters. However there are many people on here with way more experience than me that may tell you differently, if so then Id go with what they say haha. If you do decide to use a leader though you might want to check out the J knot. It is really strong and I find it easier to tie than a uni-uni knot.

It's a floater model?   Unless it's eaten by a gator, is cast into a tree/powerline of something freaky happens (fish gets hooked then somehow snags the hooks while underwater), you will be able to get it back by snagging it with another lure or something.  Go straight braid on this one.
