Not quite, but I'm getting there.  Being way past middle aged and rapidly approaching "old", I had been thinking a lot about retirement lately.  After 17 years of being a contractor and saving a few nickels every week, I finally pulled the trigger on a retirement home.  A not to fancy but fairly new place in a +55 community, and this is the best part, ON THE WATER.  We still have a about a decade of paying for college educations, but I can at least start to look forward to something other than 70+ hours a week running a business.

Anyone who wants to come and hang out on the weekends and fish a nearly private 1000 acre big fish factory, give me a shout.  In a few years we can hang during the week.

Here is the view from the front porch.

Man that looks like great place. We bought our retirement dream on a lake in central upstate NY. Love being here from May - October, but then its back to Fla. for the winter. Live and fish in the Salt Springs area Oct. - April. May have to take you up on a weekend fishing offer one day. Enjoy your new place!

Looks like a very nice place.  I must be channeling you.  We are in NC now and I'm one year from retirement.  We just purchased a home on Lake Toho in Kissimmee.  Actually its on a canal that leads to the lake.  The home will mostly sit empty from now until then but I'm looking forward to the day.  I hope we can get together and fish both lakes.  Maybe I'll change my avatar to Retired On Lake Toho!

I'm envious!!

We're still 10-12 years out, but have started looking for our lakefront retirement property.  Net is cast pretty wide - Probably inside a triangle drawn between Memphis, Louisville and Virginia Beach.  But, I'd love to get a stake in some land sooner than later.

Congratulations!

What a view! My dream is to have my own lake so I don't have to put up with the idiots you find on public lakes.

Enjoy your new place.....

Dwight, when you get here this fall, you should come up for a day or so.

That's awesome Lee.  I am in the process of selling a rental house here in Fort Lauderdale and if things work out I am going to roll that into a lake house on Istokpoga.  I'm following gar-tracker's model...fix the place up over the years and eventually retire there.

Would love to join you guys on the porch one day....

I'm only twenty minutes from Port Hatch boat ramp.  Between the three of us we will have the Kissimmee river basin covered.  From Toho to Clewiston.
