ungerauctioneer@live.com Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 Just bought my first boat, a new BPS 10 ft pond growler. Hoping to get an idea of how others have rigged up lights for night fishing. Iowa boat manual say the following about lights: When underway, red and green lights visible for at least one mile away, and an all around white light Visible from 2 miles away that is 3.3 feet higher than red/green lights. When anchored just an all around. Any products that you can suggest to meet these requirements and are easy to mount would be helpful, and pictures would be even more helpful. Am also curious if night lights drastically impact how long the battery stays charged? Can't wait to get this thing on the water Thanks Jason Quote

Super User WIGuide Posted August 6, 2014 Super User Posted August 6, 2014 The lights are commonly sold at any an all marine dealerships, as well as most places that carry marine accessories (walmart included). How you mount them is up to you. Since it's tough to run wires in that boat you'll have to keep them exposed and use the screw in cable ties to keep them out of the way. All in all it's pretty easy to do. Congrats on your new ride! Quote
ungerauctioneer@live.com Posted August 6, 2014 Author Posted August 6, 2014 Thanks guys. Got a set ordered from amazon similar to the ones Rivers Edge posted. Heading on a family trip this weekend to Lake of the Ozarks where pond prowlers probably wouldn't make it out, so I should have it all setup and ready to go for next weekend. Quote
