I'm looking to upgrade my two Daiwa Sols and am looking for a supplier.  I have already added spool and worm gear bearings, drag washers and polished applicable parts.  What I'm looking for now is handles with bearings.  Please point me in the right direction as  I don't trust Flea-Bay even if I could find one there.

My vote goes to Hawgtech. Site sponsor, great guys and awesome product. They have three different sizes right now to accommodate your needs. I have a 102mm swept handle on my Sol and love it.

A starting point would be the Tackle Trap.  Lots of goodies there - including a kit to convert your Sols to a clicking drag adjustment if that floats your boat !

X2. That clicking drag upgrade is quite the boat-floater.

Tatula handle assemblies are a great place to start. I have a PX Type R handle on my Sol and while nice, it is short in length and very pricey.

Hawgtech and get the color anodized to match....ohhhhhh yea.  When getting a swept handle, make sure it fits around the sol's straight star drag which the hawgtech swept handle does.

Take a look at Hedgehog Studio, they are out of Japan.  They have quick shipping through EMS and are very reliable.

Thanks guys. Awesome sites and the bait monkey is busy with his girlfriend, so I'm going to check them out now.

Have they changed the Hawgtech handles to accept the Daiwa Knobs.

I can't wait for this to happen. Though I do like the shimano power grip II knobs on my ht handle.

Not quite. Last I heard they were considering it but no plans for anytime soon.

X2 with hedgehog they offer quite a few choices for swept handles both aluminum and carbon fiber. I am partial to the avail swept aluminum myself.

That is my only complain about the hawg techs they only take sheemano knobs. But there are some good looking aftermarket shimano knobs by avail and yumei(sp) if you go that route.

I would shop tackle trap. Pick up one Advantage handle, one Tatula handle. Less than 50 bucks for both. Plus one is silver, one is black. That way you have some variety and they don't look the same. Both are 90 mm, add knobs of choice.

Contact Daiwa, upgrade the stock handle for a TDZ handle, you'll need the handle, the nut and the nut cover, the handle assembly comes with 4 bearings under the knobs.

I agree.  Those TD-Z handles are super light with stock knobs.  I put the TD-Z 100M  handle (straight 90mm)  on my 103P and want another for my Alphas Type F!  Actually, I don't know if it will work on the Sol with the stock drag star but if it does......

Contact Gary at the Tackle Trap. He helped me trick out a few of my Daiwa reels. He basically emailed me links to what I would need ... ie bearing sizes, conversion kits, handle options, swept drag stars, etc.

If you want to add custom parts of specific color than utilize Hawgtech or Hedgehog Studios. With Hedgehog they send you the part in its anodized color while Hawgtech will need you to send the parts for them to be anodized then they will ship them back. I have used both with no complaints.

Also you could post a WTB in classifieds here. Perhaps someone has some extra Daiwa parts laying around that would be exactly what you were looking for and for a good price.
