MemphisFF Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Got a new lure that I got to see up close and personal and was like wth this would catch fish, yes it does! Was on Kemtucky lake after the flw tourney and guys were throwing these, so I got a couple and gonna fish with it the next few days. If you get a chance look it up on YouTube it's crazy how big this spoon is.. Quote
Dyerbassman Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 That's insane! Saw that the FLW guys were using them. How heavy is it? What rod do you need to toss that out there? Quote
ThatZX14Fella Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Going to need one of Jeremy Wade's reels for that one. Quote

Super User Jrob78 Posted August 4, 2014 Super User Posted August 4, 2014 I'm using it ledge fishing.. Oh I know, spoons are big here in TX, especially on Fork. I just meant I don't throw them much. Quote

Super User Catch and Grease Posted August 5, 2014 Super User Posted August 5, 2014 Hmm, seems like a bass would have to hit that thing directly in the butt to get a hook up... If it tries to hit it in the front or side it seems like you'd never hook em.... That's a monster lure, hope ya catch a boatload! Quote
RatCog Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 I've never thrown a spoon. I have no idea what they're supposed to mimic or what techniques you use Mimics a dying shad fluttering down. I've heard of people hopping it and stroking it. I recently got a 4in flutter spoon I intend to try out from lake fork tackle. 1 Quote

Looks like you need a combo similar for an a-rig or swimbait to cast that thing. Quote
