Kevin Beachy Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Was using a 22 and shooting down into a slight dip at around 50 yards. She popped out of here hole. I was aiming for the heart but i was a little shaky and put the bullet through her one earhole and it came out right beside the other earhole! Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted August 4, 2014 Super User Posted August 4, 2014 Nice! Love shooting woodchucks(groundhog) I got one a few months ago with the .17hmr out of my kitchen window lol. I've been focusing on taking them with the bow I got one last fall with the bow. Quote
Kevin Beachy Posted August 4, 2014 Author Posted August 4, 2014 Since we live on a farm, dad hates ground hogs because they eat the soybeans so every ground hog we get is wonderfull. Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted August 4, 2014 Super User Posted August 4, 2014 That's how I get a lot of my hunting property's ask to shoot ground hogs or coyotes get my foot in the door and it's usually not long that the land owner extends the offer to put up a deer stand. Quote
Super User Jeff H Posted August 30, 2014 Super User Posted August 30, 2014 Good shot Kevin! It's best to head shoot them fat chucks. Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted August 30, 2014 Super User Posted August 30, 2014 Good shot Kevin! It's best to head shoot them fat chucks. Definitely I've had them run off with shots from a 22 to the chest. My 17 to the chest drops them but that's the nature of them little. 17s Quote

Super User buzzed bait Posted September 2, 2014 Super User Posted September 2, 2014 nice shooting. this thread had me thinking about fun times i had a good time with some folks out in SW Montana.... bad problem with gophers out there on the ranches and the cattle break their legs off in the holes so they want them all gone... we rode around for hours in a beat down VW rabbit with no windows/windshield/etc. blasting gophers til we had no more ammo... hog hunting on a massive 32,000 acre ranch down in Florida we were always asked to shoot armadillos on sight. same deal, cattle break their legs in the holes. these trips were always fun as it was more like an extermination than a hunt .... any coyote, armadillo or hog you see is fair game.
