EvanT123 Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 My dog Toga an American Bulldog is an amazing animal. He has a neighborhood arch nemesis though a Giant German Sherpard. When ever this woman walks him in front of the fence it's like world war 3 both tog and the gsd go ballistic. Toga has never barked let alone growled on the leash but one time as we were arriving home from a walk the nemesis was walking infront if our house and he was ready for battle. You would think after 4 years of this the lady would cross the freakin street! Does anyone else have a pet with a nemesis? Would enjoy hearing some stories. Quote
tipptruck1 Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 My dog had a few. Let me tell you about nipper. He was a 90lb lab rot mix. A very brave and loyal dog. He never got scared by loud noises. I think I got him use to them when he was a pup. Since I was using a panic table as a shooting bench. The seat was to far down for him to get down. So then he could not run away from me while I was shooting. So he would either sit there and watch me, or sleep. Before any one ask. He was never in danger of walking in front of the muzzle. He had a few things he did not like. Rain or water from the sprinklers. If they were on, or it was raining. He would not go out side. But I could spray him with the hose no problem. Explain that one to me. We also had a 1/4 size lab statue. For some reason he didn't like that. He never had a problem with real dogs that size. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted August 3, 2014 Global Moderator Posted August 3, 2014 Our golden has 2. Number 1 is the doorbell, she loses her mind whenever someone rings it. Number 2 is a big stuffed Lamb Chop (like from the kids TV show). We bought her that thing when she was a puppy and it was bigger than her. She beats the heck out of that thing and shakes it like she's trying to break it's neck. Then when we go to bed she brings it with her and it's her snuggle buddy, keep your enemies close I guess 1 Quote
jbw252 Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 We rescued a beagle a few years ago. He's great in the house, but outside he loves to sniff everything. He's so intent on sniffing that he tunes out the world. His arch enemy are rabbits. He loves to howl & bay as he chases them out of our yard. Quote
sparky241 Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 Yep my 2dogs( Chinese sharpeis) hate squirrels and rabbits. They have a system down 1 will chase the offender and the other will block off the exits, I've seen some fat rabbits fit through a not so fat chain fence, both have come in with fur on the noses so I know they have gotten a few Quote
Super User VolFan Posted August 3, 2014 Super User Posted August 3, 2014 Neeka is my black lab, super sweet, super smart, not an aggressive bond in her body. There's a beagle mix (Ella) next door that wants to rip her face off. Ella's a sweet dog...when she's not trying to rip Neeka's face off. Quote
Super User FishTank Posted August 4, 2014 Super User Posted August 4, 2014 Only his own shadow..... and fireworks Quote
Super User tomustang Posted August 4, 2014 Super User Posted August 4, 2014 Every dog I ever owned went nuts when someone knocked on the door or rung the door bell, with all the cats it's the red lazer pointers heh. Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted August 4, 2014 Super User Posted August 4, 2014 The last dog I had was a 1/2 black lab, 1/2 golden retreiver. That dog would go nuts every time it thundered. Quote
cbass12 Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 For my beagle it's thunder. He never used to mind it but a couple years ago there was a terrible thunderstorm that rolled through one spring night. Some of the loudest thunder I've ever heard, knocked out the power for a couple hours. Ever since then he's a basket case whenever he hears a loud noise. The worst is on Friday nights during high school football season. They shoot off a big cannon at 7 pm on the dot for home games and it drives him nuts, stadium is a mile from our house. Quote
dave Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Me. Every morning, I get the rub against my legs treatment. In the evening when I get home, if I reach down, I get hissed at. She also hates my fishing outfit. She hisses at me from the time I put it on until I leave. Quote
Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted August 4, 2014 Super User Posted August 4, 2014 Anything that moves. My pug is such a sissy. He's good for nothing other than keeping you warm and taking up every available inch of a bed. Love that goofy lookin beast. Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted August 4, 2014 Super User Posted August 4, 2014 No Snow ~ they all love pulling the sled - although towing us on our bikes comes in at a close second. Super User Raul Posted August 5, 2014 Super User Posted August 5, 2014 My beagle, Rocko has an arch nemesis, any physical activity is, other than a 4 km walk in the morning which takes us about 30 min, he spents most of the time fainted or in cathatonic state all over the garden. You have no idea how happy I am with him. I thought my Golden Retriever, Loki was the laziest dog I've ever met, he passed away a couple of years ago and I'm 100 percent shure he reincarnated in that lovely 13 inch beagle. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted August 7, 2014 Super User Posted August 7, 2014 Our Corgi has no tolerance for the neighbor's three Scottish Terriers. She runs back and forth between three upstairs bedrooms and you might think she was coming right through the glass! Even at warp5, she kicks it up a knotch when one of those beasts has the audacity to poop in her yard. Squirrels are a close second and then there are those guys that come buy and "steal" her trash every Friday. She doesn't know she is little, but I'm glad she is small. Quote
Super User Jar11591 Posted August 7, 2014 Super User Posted August 7, 2014 My border collie's arch nemesis is any bird that happens to be in the tree or on the power lines over my backyard. As soon as I open the door, whether there is a bird or not, she will bolt outside barking viciously ready to attack. She does this 100% of the time. If she sees a bird above her, she will bark and jump until it goes away. Sometimes the birds are on the ground and because my dog is so INSANELY fast, she has almost caught a lot of them. One day she will get one, probably a slow pidgeon. Quote
