Family Type Bass/john Boat? Need Advice!!!!

In the future, I'd like to buy a used bass type boat. Mainly for me and my 2 boys. My wife may go on occasion, but we'll see. Basically fit a family of 4. I've heard Bass Tracker, more than anything, or do I just look at John Boats?

What do you plan on doing with the boat? just fish or something more? Need a little more info and aluminum or fiberglass?

Fishing only. Basically lakes or big ponds. Not sure which is better between aluminum and fiberglass......

fiberglass is a smoother ride and you have to be more careful about where you go with it. Aluminum you can take in places that fiberglass dont normally go and don't have to worry about scratching the fiberglass. I have a fiberglass Stratos 273 vindicator that is in the 17 foot class that fits 3 fishing barely if your going to have 4 fishing you are probably gonna want to be on the bigger side. Also what size motor are you thinking as Trackers are notorious for being underpowered.

Start with a budget and a list of must haves and go from there. You can fish out of a $300.00 rig or an $80k + rig or anywhere in between. If you're going to tote around a family of four, an aluminum deep v might be the best place to start. In general bass boats have seating for 3 and the middle seat ain't all that great. You can get into a tin deep v that will have seating for 4 or more.  In general aluminum boats are lighter and easier to launch by yourself.(you didn't say how young the boys are.) They are more forgiving if you bang into a dock. They tend to be less expensive as well.

My wife and 2 boys fit in my 14ft flatbottom comfortably but my boys are only 3 and 6 lol, I think a 16 footer would be a good choice as well, Are you wanting something to put a deck on?
