Super User Choporoz Posted August 2, 2014 Super User Posted August 2, 2014 You gotta say more, I'm afraid......you got me to open this thread, after all 1 Quote
Weld's Largemouth Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 How to you work those things? What's special about them.. They are just a jighead to me... What am I doing wrong? I catch a Lot of fish on them but the head doesn't do anything special, I could've just used a regular jighead Quote
Super User ChrisD46 Posted August 2, 2014 Super User Posted August 2, 2014 The jighead stands up well and can be rigged a couple of different ways - 1/2oz is a little heavy unless you are fishing deep . Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted August 2, 2014 Super User Posted August 2, 2014 What's special about them. Watch the video and I think you will see: http://www.megastrike.com/#!products/vstc2=shake2-heads 1 Quote
mmrivera86 Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 I've known about these for the longest time, and have always wanted to get them. I think it's about time I order me a few. Quote

Super User Fishes in trees Posted August 2, 2014 Super User Posted August 2, 2014 I'm not a real big mail order guy. Bobby, could you please convince the folks at Rogers lures in Liberty, MO to carry a greater variety of your stuff? They carry the Cavitron buzz baits. They carry the Megastrike heads - up to a quarter ounce. Please convince they to carry your spinnerbaits and your Megastrike heads in the heavier weights. - As soon as you do, I will probably buy some. Thanks Quote
Cgrinder Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 How do they work in grass? My lakes are very weedy. Quote
JeziHogg Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 Great jig heads, but the design picks up A LOT of cabbage. Quote
Arv Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 This is all I throw now as far as shakeyheads go. They stand up far better than others that I have used. A 1/4oz shakE2 with a zoom trick worm is hard to beat when I need a bite. Quote

Comfortably Numb Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 How do they work in grass? My lakes are very weedy. Shakey heads in general are not really designed for grass. Texas rig is more streamlined and weedless. Quote

This particular jig may not be designed for grass, but there are a number from different companies that a re and they can be utilized in other areas as we'll. Quote
Slade House Posted August 3, 2014 Author Posted August 3, 2014 (when i fish lake CA$iTa$ in CA.) I use the Megastrike Shake2 EWG pro . My deadly combo has been the 3/8 or 1/2 green pumpkin with a missile bait Baby D-Bomb in Green Pumpkin Purple (new color). I've been pitching this into rocky drop offs and just slaying it. Or pitching it at fallen timber. a week ago i caught a 20.8 lb bag with this combo ("Pitching" is the key) Yes, it does pick up a lot of cabbage, but I'm not fishing it in the grass. sometimes a have a 5 gallon water jug on my boat so i can see exactly what my lure looks like underwater. I've used Yum (2nd choice) , Owner, the crappy Bass Pro Dragon Head , Savage gear , buckeye and more shaky heads. I used to use the Yum 3/8 with a wave worm tiki craw . Now the tiki craw can be shortened by clipping off the senko like tube before the head. I started to notice that only when i clipped it short enough so that it would stand up every time would i get a bite ( verifying this with the 5 gallon jug) so having my bait stand up is key for my shaky head fishing. The megasrike shaky head stands up no matter what you put on it and that's why i love it. as for being heavy, well a friend of mine caught 15 in 4 hours this afternoon using a 3/4 oz jig while my other buddy caught 4 using a 1/2 oz jig, gotta adapt. Quote
Slade House Posted August 3, 2014 Author Posted August 3, 2014 and the missile bait baby d-bomb in green pumpkin red or purple kills it. it got me a 7.6 and a 8.5 (in pic) in one week this year, as well as a dozen or so 5-6ers. drop shooting the fuse 4.4 deadly too. Quote
Bobby Uhrig Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Wow I must be a millionaire LOL Actually I have to admit-That is the best shakey head period. I have elite and FLW pros calling and asking for bags of 100 all of the time. Every size from 1/8 to 3/4 oz. The 3/16 seems to be the most popular size . When I was at ICAST we had people blown away that had never even seen these before. There are so many applications you can use it for-The swim bait is a killer. It gives them the most incredible action. guys are fishing deep ledges with the 3/4 oz with 10 inch worms. I really don't get hung up in the grass or timber. All I do is just shake it a bit and it comes right off. I don't even own a texas rig any longer Quote
