Hello,

I bought a used Abu Garcia Revo SX recently that seemed to be reeling smooth however i could hear some gears grinding.  I opened it up to grease the gears in it and now the slight whine is gone but every couple of seconds while i am reeling it seems to 'catch' or almost hesitate or pause and then its fine again for another second or two.  Any tips?  I can try to upload a video if needed.

Thank you

PM DVT, he can more likely provide you with the right diagnosis. He is a BR sponsor, just click on DVT on the right side of this screen.

The catch may be in the level wind, AR clutch or gears. It's impossible to say without seeing it. If you'd like to send it in, include your screen name and I'll apply a 10% discount on labor. Service is $22 (less 10%) plus shipping and parts if needed.  PM, Email or call with ant questions.
