The "tournament" edition is the one that shows up at a discount during their sales, get the regular Pro Qualifier, better reel.

The one he is talking about is the Blue PQT.(look in his other post) Its actually a nicer reel then the regular PQ, but was only made for a year or so.

One reel mechanic said the internals are between a Revo SX and STX. I still have two, that I don't use any longer.

You could also look for a gold carbonlite. Other than the handle theyre the same. I own a PQT, fine reel for the original price but nothing special honestly.

I accumulated 6 of the blue PQ tourny's over the years and I'm slowly getting rid of them for standard PQ. yes they are much lighter but it comes at a cost.  the main crank shaft is aluminium which is easily compromised.  ie you can over tighten the drag star and strip out the thread on the crank shaft.  i've also had problems getting the end nut to thread back onto the crankshaft after each cleaning. i ordered replacement shafts and nuts from BPS and very few of them would work together b/c they weren't originally matched.  i break down my reels once or twice a year and the problems were far greater then the lightness gained.
